Mr. Brandon Brazell » Week of November 6

Week of November 6

Hello! It's the start of a new week! I apologize for the inconsistency in posts, I will be better about this moving forward.
In sixth grade, we are currently discussing the history of space exploration. Our quiz for this lesson will be on Wednesday, November 8. Since this is the last lesson of Chapter 2, there will also be a test on this chapter next week. I am planning for it to be next Friday, November 17. I will keep you posted about this. In addition, there is a project coming up for sixth grade that I am going to officially assign in class tomorrow. In this project, each student and their partner will be assigned a space mission which they will research and create a presentation about. There will be more information about this to come. There is no official homework for sixth grade other than to study for the quiz and to start brainstorming their project
In seventh grade, we are wrapping up our lesson on heredity and Punnett Squares. Our quiz will be on Wednesday, November 8. After that, we will jump into our lesson on meiosis, which will take us through next week. The definitions and 10 facts for the lesson on meiosis will be due on Thursday, November 9. There will be no homework other than that and studying for seventh grade this week.
In eighth grade, we are wrapping up our lesson on free fall and circular motion. Our quiz for this lesson will be on Wednesday, November 8. Since this is the last lesson of Chapter 2, there will also be a test on this chapter next week. I am planning for it to be next Friday, November 17. I will keep you posted about this. In addition, eighth grade will have a project assigned for this chapter as well. In groups of two or three, they will choose a concept from the chapter to research and dig deep into, that they will present to the class. I will officially assign this project tomorrow, so there will be more information to come. There is no official homework for eighth grade other that to study for the quiz and to start brainstorming their project.
In regards to science fair for seventh and eighth grade, the big thing right now is the research packet that was assigned last week. There have been several days of class where they have had time to complete this, including tomorrow. It is due this Thursday, November 9. There may be time needed at home to complete this. Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns about science fair.
Thank you again for your continued patience and support this schoolyear. I apologize for the delay in getting this out, hopefully it should be more consistent moving forward. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Have a fantastic week!
