RCIA-Converting to Catholicism

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the process by which adults over the age of sixteen convert to Catholicsm. At a special liturgy on Holy Saturday of each liturgical year, thousands of men and women world wide are welcomed into the Catholic Church at a solemn Easter Vigil.

The preparation time prior to the RCIA on Holy Saturday is known as the Period of Evangelization and there is no prescribed time frame; it is a highly individual process. For general information about RCIA, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops maintains a FAQ that you may find helpful, and you are encouraged to contact our pastor or associate pastor for additional information.

For more information on becoming a Catholic, please call the parish office at 773-631-4127. If you know someone who may be interested, you may be the way that they get introduced to the church. We’re looking forward to meeting you.
