I am very excited to begin a new school year with your child!  I hope you all had a relaxing and wonderful summer!  If your child attends Extended Care afterschool, please let me know the days. Spelling - Backpack Page 47 and study for tomorrow’s test. Backpack Page 48 will go home tomorrow to start studying for next week’s test on Thursday, 4/25. There is no school for students on 4/26.


Math - Flashcards and pages 141+142.


iReady - Complete 15 minutes of Reading and 15 minutes of Math by Sunday evening please.


Communion Practice - The children will be processing down the aisle two times so that everyone can see them in their communion outfits.  They will be doing a lot of walking.  It might be a good idea to have your child practice walking around in the house with their dress shoes on so they feel comfortable during their special day.

Communion - The last project, Chapter 6, is coming home today. Please use the paper provided and draw the Last Supper. At the top write, The Last Supper, neatly in marker. Carefully draw Jesus and the 12 disciples (no stick figures) in pencil and neatly color in with crayons or colored pencils.  Jesus should be in the middle and 6 disciples on each side. Write your name on the front bottom right hand corner. This is due by Wednesday, April 10th.

Spelling - Backpack Page 6


Math - Flashcards. The My Word Cards and Home-School Connection letter are coming home for Topic 6, Fluently Subtract Within 100. 


iReady - Please complete 15 minutes of Math and 15 minutes of Reading by Sunday evening.


Religion - Please continue to practice the Act of Contrition prayer (purple paper) and the words for the priest, “Bless me Father for I have sinned…  

Bring the Reconciliation candle holder and candle with you when you come to church next Monday, Feb. 5th at 6:30. 


*Your child is bringing home a thank you letter for sending them to St. Juliana School. Thank you for your sacrifices, support and generosity!!

Wednesday's Homework

Spelling - Backpack Page 3 and continue studying for the test on Friday.


Math - Flashcards and study the review pages coming home. They are very similar to the test tomorrow. The first subtraction timed-tests are coming home. Please sign/return and complete the blank problems if you received an 84% or below. The majority of the students will be completing/returning. Keep the test if it’s 85% or above. The goal is to receive one percentage higher than the last test.


*Please return field trip money by tomorrow.


*Friday - Mothers’ Club Hot Lunch (Cesars).


*We will be having our classroom Valentine’s Day party on Tuesday, 2/13. February 14th is Ash Wednesday. You may bring in Valentine’s for the class if you’d like. We have 19 students.  You may come out of uniform in Valentine colors. Thank you to Mrs. Hardiman and Mrs. Politis for being our Room Moms!!

Tuesday's Homework

Spelling/Reading - There will not be a Spelling test on Friday. Please reread Backpack Page 66 aloud a few times.


Math - Flashcards and pages 75+76. There will not be a timed-test this week. The next one (subtraction) will be next week.


Religion - The Chapter 7 test is tomorrow.  You will be asked to WRITE OUT the definitions of Mortal Sin and Venial Sin. You will also be asked to choose one of the Ten Commandments and write one way you can obey it. Review the Faith Words, highlighted parts, Chapter Review, and take the pretest at Blestarewe.com.


*Tomorrow - Out of uniform and the Reconciliation/Communion meeting is at 6:30 in the Church.


*Room 30 will be completing the iReady Diagnostics tomorrow, January 16th and Tuesday, January 23rd.  Both days will be in the morning, so please eat a great breakfast. Please do not complete any iReady at home this week or next week. Thanks!

*Over the next couple of weeks, we will be working on writing a Book Review. Please bring in a book that you know very well by Thursday. The book will stay in school until the review is completed. Thank you!


*The Act of Contrition prayer is coming home on purple paper to start practicing for Reconciliation on February 5th. We will say this prayer as a whole group. Also coming home is a half sheet of paper stating how to begin the confession with the priest, “Bless me Father for I have sinned…”.   Keep both of these in a handy spot to review often.
