Pre-K 4 on Parade! Pre-K 4 loves parades! This week, we enjoyed thinking about our flag. We thought it would be fun to also design our own flags. We enjoyed waving our flags in our Pre-K 4 parade! Great fun!

Linked to this week’s big idea, "I share special times with my family," the children enjoyed role-playing family members enjoying a meal in a restaurant. The children enjoyed taking turns cooking the meals and serving the meals. We encouraged the children to show examples of how customers and the wait staff treat each other kindly. We encouraged polite language, such as “Thank you!” and “This is delicious!” Great family fun!

Garbage trucks are so much fun! Mr. Flood, Colin, Jack, and Emily's dad, very kindly organized a garbage truck visit for Pre-K 4. The visit is linked to the next big idea, "Transportation is for doing work and getting around my community." The children enjoyed watching Nowel the driver operate the truck. Thank you so much to Nowel and Mr. Flood for the fun garbage truck visit.

Which Is Biggest, Tallest, Longest? Linked to the big book, "Biggest, Strongest, Fastest," the children in Pre-K 4 enjoyed thinking about the height and length of different animals. For instance, we stood on a ladder to show how tall a giraffe can be and we went into the hallway to show how long an anaconda snake and a blue whale can be. The children were very surprised by how tall a giraffe can be and how long an anaconda snake and a blue whale can be!
