Spelling - Backpack Page 67.

Math - Flashcards and study the review pages coming home for the test on Friday. Today's paper (p 179-180) is VERY SIMILAR to the test. Just change the numbers to practice a home. Another paper will come home tomorrow with a few more things to work on.

*We will be taking the Reading Diagnostic for iReady on Friday. Please get a good night’s rest and eat a good breakfast.

*Friday - Out of uniform. Please donate $1 or more for Molly Morris. A flyer is coming home today.

*Catholic Schools Week is the week of January 29th-February 3rd. The official schedule will be coming out but here is a preview:

Sunday, 1/29 - 9:30 Mass. If your child would like to read one petition and you are going to the Mass, please email your child’s teacher and we will randomly choose one child. Open House is from 10:30-12:30. Please come in uniform and receive an out of uniform pass from me in the classroom.

Monday, 1/30 - Pajama Day

Tuesday, 1/31 - Spirit wear 

Wednesday, 2/1 - Out of uniform and hat day. We will be seeing an assembly in the morning. We will not be going to Mass.

Thursday, 2/2 - Red, White, and Blue day with a $1 donation to benefit Fisher House, which is an organization supporting military and veteran families.  We will also be going to the Pickwick Theater to see Puss in Boots. The permission slip is coming home tomorrow and due by Friday, Jan. 27th.

Friday, 2/3  - 2nd grade will come to school out of uniform wearing green.

Reading - Reread Backpack Page 66 aloud several times. Backpack Page 65 went home on Friday to start studying for the Spelling test this Friday. It is a challenging one.

Math - Flashcards (I forgot my school bag at home and some of the flashcard sheets did not get put back in the green folders.) Study the review pages going home this week. The Topic 4 test (Fluently Add Within 100) will be on Friday.  Timed-Tests will be starting this week. We will be completing the iReady Winter Diagnostic this week. Our class will be taking one of the diagnostics tomorrow afternoon.  Please do not go on iReady at home.

Religion - Study for the Chapter 7 test tomorrow. Take the pretest at blestsarewe.com. You will be asked to write out the definitions of venial sin and mortal sin. Memorize the green faith words box and practice writing out the definitions.  You will also be asked how you can obey one of the Ten Commandments.

We will be starting our Reconciliation books this week in addition to our regular Religion book. 

*January book orders went home last Friday. Please order online (Class Code - DXQ8C or hand in cash to me by Friday morning if you’d like to order.

Math - Flashcards and pages 61+62. You can use any strategy.  Timed-Tests will be starting next week on addition/subtraction facts 0-18.  We will be completing the iReady Winter Diagnostic next week. Please do not go on iReady at home next week.

Dear Parents, 

We look forward to welcoming you back to the St. Juliana School Christmas Concert! The students in K-8 have been busy practicing their carols to present to you at the Church on Monday, December 19th at 6:30pm!

As the Church will be jam-packed, we ask you adhere to the following on the night of the Concert:

• Please arrive to the Church no later than 6:30pm; the Church will be open at 6:15pm 
• Please sit in any of the center pews that are not reserved for a grade 
• Please keep your child’s coat with you 
• Your child should go to his/her grade-level pews 
• Please refrain from talking or moving around in between songs, as that distracts the children on the altar 
• Children are not permitted to leave early with a parent or guardian 
• Please refrain from leaving the show early out of courtesy for the children singing on the altar ● The aisles should be cleared for the final song
• After the final song, please pick up your child from his/her grade-level pews. All children in grades K-7 should wear “Sunday Best” Christmas attire. Please no gym shoes, crop tops, inappropriate leggings, or athletic clothes. If leggings are worn, a shirt should cover a child’s backside. Children in 8th grade will coordinate their own festive attire.
