Wednesday and Thursday are Spirit Days! No need to wear a uniform to school for the final two days.
Grades 3-7 will be bowling tomorrow afternoon. If your child wears white gym shoes they will not need to wear the bowling shoes. Please make sure that your child knows their shoe size if they will be wearing the bowling shoes.
Thursday - we will attend a special school mass at 9:30 a.m. We will then go back into school to be dismissed to our normal exit doors. This should be around 10:30 a.m.

There are a limited number of yearbooks for sale. They are $20 each and can be purchased in the office.
A summer reading program is available through the Pizza Hut Book-It Program. https://www.bookitprogram.com/programs/camp-book-it
Several of the students in Room 29 completed all six months of the Book-It program this year. They were eligible to enter into a nation-wide contest sponsored by Pizza Hut. Quinn Butler was selected as one of 22 winners! He will receive $500 cash and $500 in books! Congratulations Quinn!
Just a reminder that your child needs to know their shoe size for bowling on Wednesday.

What a week it was!
Thank you to Mrs. Butler for volunteering to be a Mystery Reader on Wednesday. We listened to a book titled Extra Yarn. We then created some wonderful pieces of yarn art.
The kids and I had a great time "camping out" in the room on Thursday. We read under tents with flashlights, ate a "s'more" snack, listened to ghost stories, and did a camping Mad Lib. It was a great way to wrap up our AR point challenge.
We celebrated the end of Third Grade today with a class party. A big thank you to Mrs. Dodovich and Mrs. O'Donoghue for planning all of the fun!
Next week, we will be bowling on Wednesday afternoon. All of the third graders have been mixed up into teams. The kids will not be allowed to play any arcade games or purchase snacks from the concession stand so there is no need to send any money. The kids may wear white shoes and not have to wear the bowling shoes. If your child does need to wear the bowling shoes please discuss what their shoe size is. Thank you!

The next two weeks are going to be so busy! ;-)
Tomorrow, Wednesday, is Spirit Day. The kids may come to school dressed in SJS clothing.
All library books are now due. Please check with your child to see if they received an orange notice from the library.
Thursday will be our Camping Day. Our class read for a total of 416 points this trimester!! That is amazing!! See the flyer from last week for more information.
Now that it is warmer outside we have been turning on the AC in the classroom. One side of the room cools down much faster than the other side. It is a good idea to make sure that your child has a sweater or sweatshirt with them in case they are on the cool side of the room.

Happy Election Day! Room 29 listened to three stories about elections, took AR tests on them, and then held our own election today. We will tabulate the results tomorrow.
Due to the election activities, our Specials classes, and the afternoon storm, we did not finish our math test. That means that your child has a bonus night to study again. :-)
Reminder that Reading Logs are due tomorrow. Reading Logs and i-Ready lessons will not be required over Spring Break.
The Grammar test has been moved to after Spring Break.

A letter is going home tomorrow to inform you that we have a case of pink eye in the classroom. We try to disinfect our desks daily. I will begin to use a spray disinfectant after the kids leave as well.
