Listening for God in Advent

Join us on Monday evenings this Advent as we gather for communal prayer centered in Scripture. Our sessions will be led by parishioner Tom Wetzel, an associate professor in the Theology Department at Loyola University Chicago.
     Our sessions will involve listening to God speak through the readings from the upcoming Sunday Mass. We first will listen individually as the Scripture is read and then share in small groups what we have heard. Our prayer then will turn to our collective response to the reading. Through listening and sharing within the context of prayer, we hope to create space for the Spirit to prepare us for the coming of Jesus anew this Christmas season.
     We will meet in the parish office library, 7:00–8:30 pm, on Mondays starting Nov. 27 through Dec. 18. You do not need any previous experience with group prayer or Scripture study. All are welcome!
