The
SJS Athletic Association attempts to bring to the students
of St. Juliana School a sports-related program in addition
to their regular physical education classes. The association
coordinates and supervises school-affiliated and intramural
functions such as: basketball, volleyball, football, softball,
cheerleading and floor hockey. The association also runs
a winter Roller Skating Party for students in grades 4
through 8.
In 2006 our school joined
the Positive
Coaching Alliance, a national
non-profit organization based at Stanford University. The
PCA is a movement to transform the culture of youth sports
so that every youth athlete can have a positive, character-building
experience. The PCA web site includes a variety of good
references for both coaches and parents.
The Athletic Association is supported both by
the parish and the fund-raisers it runs, most notably the
annual Track-a-Thon, and food and beverage concessions at
home games. Please refer to the association's
web log for more information about their current activities.
The Athletic Association has three open meetings
during the school year that will be noted on the events calendar.
