Rolling and Running down the Dunes.

Camping at the Dunes was Fantas"TIC"

The boys had a great time rolling down sand dunes and visiting the beach. It was said by the older scouts that Chicago could be seen at night from the shores of Michigan. Special thanks to the Webelos parents for hosting the outing and the 965 Boy Scouts for showing the younger kids the ropes of camping and putting on skits at the campfire. Hopefully, the tics didn't follow us home. Pictures will be posted soon later this week.

Religious Awards Presented at February Scout Mass

Parvuli Dei Award – Child of God

It is a tradition at St. Juliana for the Webelos Scouts of Pack 3965 to work toward their religious awards by earning the Parvuli Dei Award. The boys worked to better understand their faith through projects at home, in church, and in their community.
The boys were assisted in various activities by their parents, scout leaders, Pam Francisco, Pastoral Associate, Father Steve Kanonik, Pastor, and Todd Steffen, Pack 3965 Parvuli Dei coordinator.
We congratulate all of the Scouts for their hard work. The 2006 recipients of the Parvuli Dei Award are: (individual photos)

Flashlight Hike - Coming Up October 13

The flashlight hike is Friday, October 13th from 7-9pm. It is at a new location this year, Caldwell Woods Grove #1, which is located at Milwaukee and Devon. There is parking available on both sides of the grove. You can enter the forest preserve on Devon, first and second entrance after Milwaukee Ave. The night will run similar to past hikes. Please feel free to call Marcy Liberty with any questions. Printed flyers for your scouts are in your mailbox. Parents who have volunteered for the hike will be contacted in the next couple of days. Most of the work will be done at the hike itself.

Welcome to the 2006-07 Scouting Year!!!

On behalf of the scout leaders, I would like to welcome you to the St. Juliana Cub Scout blog (weblog). We will keep the upcoming events, reminders, communications, and pictures out on the blog. If you have ideas as to what else we can include to make the site more useful, please email me at steffentodd[at]sbcglobal[dot]net. I'm new at this, so I'll take all the help I can get. Our first Pack Nite will be Monday, September 18 from 7:00-8:30 PM in the school hall. The trip to Eagle Cave is next weekend (Sept 22-24). Wondering what to do with all those digital pictures you take at your den meetings and outings??? If you collect pictures from any scout event, please email them to me along with a blurb of who, what, when, where and I'll be sure to include them in this blog. Here are some from last year's pack nite when Tom showed us how to handle an alligator.
