Computer Lab Happenings
The Computer Lab ~ a year in review…Here are just some of the projects that were done in our new lab this year.
4 year old Preschool learned how to use the mouse and practiced the alphabet on Starfall.com and readritethink.com and used Pixie2 to draw and print out lovely pictures.
Kindergarten students logged onto the internet, worked on their alphabet and other Kindergarten skills using abcya.com/kindergarten, and loved playing Polar Pogo!
First Grade students took their Star Test on Accelerated Reader, worked on Math skills by logging into their IXL Math accounts, and worked on First Grade skills in abcya.com/firstgrade.
The second graders made slide shows using Pixie2, took Accelerated Reader and Star Tests, logged into their IXL Math accounts to practice their Math skills, researched topics on Enchanted Learning, and typed and drew posters using Pixie2.
Third Grade took A.R. and Star tests, IXL Math quizzes, drew arrays in Math with Pixie2, did research using the internet, and learned how to log onto the new server to save their documents.
Fourth Grade logged onto to server to save their work, typed many papers for English, Science, Reading, and Social Studies, used the internet for research, created Solar System Powerpoints, and took their A.R. and Star Tests.
Fifth Grade logged on to the server to save their work, created brochures using Microsoft Publisher, researched topics on the internet, and took A.R. and Star Tests.
Sixth Grade typed papers for various subject areas, inserted pictures and clip art into their Word documents, saved their work in their folders on the server, took A.R. and Star Tests, and used the internet to do research for many of their projects this year.
Seventh Grade did research in all subject areas using the internet, saved work on the server in their folders, typed numerous papers for their classes, used Inspiration to create visual maps and outlines, and utilized Word and Publisher for projects.
Eighth Grade typed their documents in Word, researched topics for all classes using the internet, created Powerpoints in English class, and saved worked in their folders on the server.
It was a busy and exciting year in the Computer Lab!
