Great Expectations
It's time to say good-bye
Our year has come to an end.
I've made more cherished memories
and many more new friends.
I've watched your child learn and grow
and change from day to day.
I hope that all the things we've done
Have helped in some small way.
So it's with happy memories
I send them out the door,
With great hope and expectations
for what next year holds in store.
Thank you all for a wonderful year! We'll see you in the fall.
Love, Mrs Collins & Mrs. Starzec

Counting down...
During the next two weeks, we will finish our study of the alphabet by looking at the letters "Y" and "Z." The children may bring a "Y" show-and-tell object this Friday and a "Z" object next Wednesday for our last show-and-tell. Our theme over the next two weeks is Outdoor and Summer Fun! A few of the projects the children will make are bright suns, delicious looking watermelons, and a fireworks masterpiece during art centers. We will also finish our religion book about Creation.
Just a reminder: The last day in our classroom is Wednesday, June 2nd. Our end of the year picnic is next Thursday, June 3rd at Pioneer Park (7135 N Harlem Ave.) A note was sent home last week with more information.
The last Moms and Tots group meeting is this Thursday, May 27th. Enjoy a visit with other moms and grandmothers while the kids play!

Photo Keepsake Book
We have enjoyed taking lots of pictures in three year old preschool! All of our room's photos are being compiled in a keepsake book (about sixty pictures.) Each three year old preschool room will have its own book. The book contains large and small group shots and individual shots of every child. The keepsake book costs $14 and will be passed out at the end of the year picnic.
If you are interested in purchasing the book, please send in the order form, sent home last week, with $14 cash or a check made out to Mary Hazzard (of W. O. W. Memories.) If the order form has been misplaced, please send in a note with payment.

Busy, Busy Bees!
We have been very busy in 3 year old preschool. Last week we focused on the letter "V." The children created beautiful flower "V"ases to recognize the letter "V." Our theme last week was Mothers and Fathers. We hope you enjoyed the special projects the children created for you! Ask your child to sing the special Mommy/Daddy songs they learned.
The Mother's Day gift your child brought home contains seeds for Impatiens. These are "Large 2" flowers on well-branched plants. Colors include white, red, pink, lavender-blue and others." It can take 18-28 days for the seedlings to emerge. Keep the cup in a warm, well-lighted area and the soil evenly moist. Please be aware that there are holes in the bottom of the cup for drainage. Enjoy!
Our letter this week is "W." The children painted watery W's on Monday. We look forward to show-and-tell on Friday! Our theme this week is Insects. We have had a class vote on who likes/dislikes Insects. Ask your child how he/she voted. We also had a gummy worm taste test. It's no surprise that most of the children liked them! Today, we made beautiful butterflies to hang in our windows. The children will also make lovely ladybugs this week.
FYI: A preschool field trip was listed on the all school calendar for this Friday, May 14th. This is for the 4 year old preschool program.
