Our letter this week is "O." The children used Cheerios to decorate their "Os." After a taste test, we used our chart to find out that the majority of our class liked Cheerios! This week we begin our two week unit on St. Patrick's Day. Just one of our special projects this week is to make a shamrock friend!

We are looking forward to seeing all our parent helpers at our school's volunteer dinner this Thursday, March 11th. Please return your RSVP. Thanks!

This Thursday, March 11th, is also Mom's Group! Looking to get out of the house with the little one(s)? Need to break up the day? Want to meet other Moms with whom you can have an “adult” conversation?

Then please join your fellow mothers of the parish for a casual morning of coffee and conversation. Your children are welcome! Feel free to drop in at the parish center anytime between 9:30 and 11:00 AM.

Coffee, refreshments, and toys will be provided. Grandmas watching baby/tots welcome too.

March Update

Spring Pictures are this coming Monday, March 8th. Every child will have their photo taken, but you are NOT obligated to buy the Portrait Package that will be sent home in a few weeks. If uninterested, please return unwanted pictures to school. If your child has a sibling ENROLLED at St. Juliana, they can have their photo taken together. See the order form (sent home on March 1st) for more details.

Next week, Thursday, March 11th, is our Volunteer Dinner. Our preschool parents have been very generous with their time and talents. Please join us to celebrate you!

Student Council is once again organizing an Easter Basket collection to brighten a needy child's Easter. Our room will create a basket for a three year old girl. Please consider donating age appropriate items. We can't have too much. Thank you!

Our letter this week is "N." The children made nice noses to represent "N." Please help your child pick out a "N" show-and-tell for Friday.

Our theme this week is Sea Life. We will share stories about the sea, and the children will make spectacular sea creatures.

We have many students (and teachers) out with colds and flu bugs. If in doubt, please keep your little one home. We'll miss him/her, but we want everyone healthy. Thanks so much.

Preschool Update

Our letter this week is "M." Your child will use M&Ms to make a marvelous looking "M!" Please help your child pick out a "M" show-and-tell for Friday. Last week, the children made luscious lollipops for the letter "L," and shared great "L" items on Friday.

THe children liked our focus on Nursery Rhymes last week. Look for your child's Humpty Dumpty in our hallway, and their little lambs are on the way home to you... This week, they will enjoy focusing on Fairy Tales.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, February 24th, is a preschool open house for families interested in attending our school. When your little one mentions visitors to the classroom, now you know! :-)

Hearts and KKKKS...

Our letter this week is "K." Did you like our "K" kites? This week we are preparing for St. Valentine's Day as well. We have lovely projects planned to celebrate the holiday. We will have a special snack on Friday for a Valentine's treat. As mentioned last week, the children may bring in valentines and/or treats to share with their friends. (Please do NOT label with idividual names. Thanks!) On Friday, we will have a special visitor! Dr. LaSusa will visit with the Three Year Old Preschoolers to talk about dental health.

Just a short note to let you know our Mom's and Tots Group will be meeting this Thursday morning, February 11, anytime from 9:30 - 11 am. Please think about joining us!

Jumping into a great week!

Our letter this week is "J!" The children jumped into centers yesterday, one of which was decorating the letter "J" with jelly beans. This week we will also be discussing teeth. The children will make "Sparkling Smiles," and learn how to care for their teeth. In addition to the above themes, we have discussed Groundhog's Day. We took a class vote to see if the children would like six more weeks of winter or if they would like spring to come early this year. The majority of the children voted for spring to come early. Unfortunately, the groundhog, Punxsutawney Phil, saw his shadow... six more weeks of winter!

Tomorrow is our circus day with Cirque Amongus! Please make sure your child is comfortably dressed and wearing gym shoes for our circus activities. The students will rotate through a circuit of circus skills involving balance, wheels, and coordination. Please visit http://cirqueamongus.com for detailed information on the project, as well as videos of the featured circus skills. (If you were confirmed to volunteer, please arrive at 8:00am to receive instructions. Thank you!

Next Friday, February 12th, we will celebrate St. Valentine's Day. We will enjoy a special snack and the children will pass out valentines. When preparing valentines, please do NOT put classmates' names on them. (Thank you!) Our class has fifteen children.
Have a great week and remember... no school this Friday!

A "Beary" Good Week Ahead!

Our theme this week is Bears! We have great stories to share and a special bear puppet to make. On Friday, instead of show-and-tell for the letter of the week, the children may bring in their favorite teddy bear to share the day with!
Our letter this week is "I." Today, the children brought home the "Inspector I" they made this morning.
We are also creating special projects for you to see at our Open House this coming Sunday, January 31st, from 1-3. See you then!

Clowning Around in Preschool!

This week, our theme is the Circus! We'll share some great stories, learn a couple of fun songs, and make clown hats, among other activities! We're looking forward to our real circus experience on Wednesday, February 3rd, during Catholic Schools Week! The children will enjoy learning circus skills by professionals in our very own gym.
Our letter this week is the letter "H." The children will reinforce their fine motor skills by making "Happy Headbands!" Please help your child pick out a "H" show-and-tell item for Friday. (You'll notice that on the rest of the volunteer calendars, our show-and-tell for the week will also be listed for your convenience.)
