New Year Greetings! I hope you had a peaceful vacation and were able to join us back in December of our Christmas concerts, the children worked very hard and the out come was both memorable and terrific.



K and lst We are working on Winter songs, including songs about snowmen, penguins, polar bears and snow flakes. We created our own snowflakes to music on our Snowflake Factory web site, lot of fun!



2nd We will be singing and working on winter songs also and have continued our work on musical notation recognition.



3rd We have continued our work on Americana compositions.Today we talked about folk songs and some of America's famous composers of these song(e.g. Woody Guthrie, etc), and what was going on in our country at that time.



4th We will be moving on from the percussion instruments of the orchestra and on to the string instruments. We will be studying this largest section of the orchestra, its history and making of these instruments along with a lot of technology work.



5th We have done extensive work on the classical composers such as Bach and Handel, we are starting the biographical study of Beethoven along with all of his great compositions and his health and mental detriments.
