Spelling - Please complete Backpack Page 77 and return it. The test is on Friday.
Math - Flashcards
Religion - The next project due a week from today is coming home. The students have the sheet and a piece of construction paper to glue it on. They are to write six ideas on the lines provided answering, How can God's Word take root in you? What are some things you can do? We discussed ideas like, listen at Mass and help others. The test on Chapters 3+4 will be next Wednesday. Study the flashcards, the bold words, and the highlighted parts.
* Friday - Book orders due, Mothers' Club Hot Lunch, and February Book-It due.

Reading - Read Backpack Page 76 fluently several times.
Math - Flashcards
Religion - Bookmark due tomorrow. Don't forget that when you are studying for the Communion tests, study the flashcards along with rereading the chapters.
* A.R. points/average as of this morning is coming home today. The quarters ends on 3/30.

Religion - The bookmark is due by Wednesday. Next Wednesday will be the test on Chapters 3+4.
* The State of Illinois Hearing and Vision Screening memos are being sent home today with each student. Please look for them, read the information, and note the due date.
* We will be making an Easter Basket for a second grade girl this year. The baskets will be sent to children at the Ascension/St. Susanna Parish, which is our sharing parish. Thank you ahead of time for your generosity!!
* Book orders are due by Friday.
* Mothers' Club Hot Lunch is Friday - Pizza!!
* The February Book-It can be handed in this week. March is the last month of the program.

Religion - The next Communion project is coming home today along with a small poster board. You are to make a bookmark and you might want to keep the extra poster board. The project after the next is to make a doorknob hanger. The projects this week were very nice. They will be put on display and thanks for putting effort into it! We have been talking about our Lenten promises, but we will be officially writing out our Lenten promises tomorrow, so make sure you know yours!
* Please sign and return the Communion test.
* Pop tops out of uniform tomorrow!!

Spelling/Reading - Complete and keep Backpack Pages 71+72. As with last week, there are less days to study for the spelling test.

Religion - Study for the first Eucharist test tomorrow on Chapters 1+2. Please study the flashcards we made in school as well as the highlighted parts and stories in the book. We used the index cards of those who brought some in. Please bring in a pack when you can, as we are using the cards to make flashcards for each chapter. Chapter 2's project is due tomorrow.
* We have Mass tomorrow at 1:15 for Ash Wednesday.
* The Six Flags reading sheet is due tomorrow.

Math - Flashcards
Religion - Chapter 2's project is coming home today. It can be done on a HALF piece of poster board. The paper with the explanation has a sample. A couple more projects will also be done on poster board (or using pieces of one), so you may want to pick up a couple. This will be due next Wednesday. Also, if you can bring in a pack of index cards (no lines), we will be making flashcards. There will be a test on every two chapters. The first one will be next Wednesday, the 22nd, on Chapter's 1 and 2. The book should be going home and coming back everyday!

Religion - The project is due tomorrow.
* The Six Flags Great America reading program sheet (6 or more hours of reading) that was passed out in December is due no later than next Wednesday, the 22nd, if you want to receive a free admission ticket. I love that place!!
* Have a wonderful Valentine's Day and thanks so much Mrs. Conway and Mrs. Sondermann for the party!
Spelling/Reading - Please complete and keep Backpack Pages 67 & 68. The second half of Second Grade Spelling will consist of 12 Memory Words to be spelled for the test. The Pattern Words should be read often, but will not be tested on. This week's test will be on Thursday, since there is no school for students Friday.
Math - Flashcards
Religion - The project is due on Wednesday. The projects will be given out on Fridays (Thursday this week), and returned by the following Wednesday.
* Please sign and return the Unit and Math tests.
* Out of Uniform tomorrow. We will have our party in the afternoon. Thanks to Mrs. Sondermann and Mrs. Conway for providing what we need for the party! Feel free to bring Valentines and/or treats!
* The first Communion project is coming home today. The detailed instructions are in your child's folder. They are to take the white construction paper and find magazine pictures that show people following Jesus. The title is already written at the top by your child. This will be due on Wednesday, Feb. 15th. We will discuss the projects as they come in, so if you are done earlier, feel free to bring in any of the projects. The projects will be given on a Friday and due the following Wednesday.

Math - The Chapter Review is coming home today. Please study that along with practicing coins. The Chapter test is tomorrow.
* Out of uniform tomorrow as well as Mothers' Club Hot Lunch.
* It was very nice hearing some of the Baptism stories and the sharing of pictures! We will do the rest tomorrow.
* Bring in your book for the book report if you still need to.
Math - Flashcards and practice your coins.
Religion - We have started the Communion book. The other book will be put on hold until the Communion book is completed. Please complete page 5. I told the class that they can either draw their Baptism day (including Godparents) or attach a picture. Any drawings in this book should be done in colored pencils or crayons only. They will share about their day in class. You might want to talk with your child about who was there, if they were crying or not, etc...
* We will be writing a book report about a book your child knows well. Please bring in the book or write down the title and author. They should know their favorite part and the beginning, middle, and end of the story.
* We will be having a Valentine's Day Party on Tuesday. The Room Moms are providing what is needed. If you want to bring in treats for the class, there are 20 students and please don't put names on anything. It would take too long to pass out. It will also be out of uniform!

Math - Flashcards. The chapter test on Money will be on Friday. Keep practicing the names/values of coins as well as giving change back. Example - if you have 30 cents and your item is 27 cents, count on (28, 29, 30 cents) and the change will be 3 cents.
* We will be using a pop-tops out of uniform pass on Friday. Thanks for bringing them in!!
Math - Flashcards. A timed-test is coming home today. We take one every week.
* There are no backpack pages this week, as we are completing the Unit Test during the week. So, no Spelling test on Friday!
* Mothers' Club Hot Lunch is on Friday - McDonald's!!
