Reading - Complete and return Backpack Page 45.
Math - Flashcards
Religion - Start studying Chapter 6 for next Wednesday's test.
* Pajamas due by Friday. Thanks for bringing them in!
* The Reconciliation jar is due by next Wednesday, 11/7. Reconciliation is 11/13 at 6:30. An informational letter will be sent home with specifics and the seating arrangement.
* November Book It is due tomorrow. The December one is coming home today.
* Mothers' Club Hot Lunch is Friday.
* We wrote letters to Santa that will be delivered to Macy's on Friday. A dollar will be donated for every letter to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Reading - Read Backpack Page 44 many times! The class listened to the story at the Listening Center today.

Math - A new set of flashcards came home today. Study along with the others!

Spelling - Please complete and return Backpack Page 42 and use it to help study for the test tomorrow.
Math - Flashcards - I'll check them tomorrow and then again starting after break. We are taking the Chapter 2 test tomorrow.

* Pajama Day tomorrow!
* Tomorrow is the last day to send in a donation for the Student Council's Christmas Sharing project.
* The generous Veterans who received our cards are throwing the 2nd grade a pizza party this Tuesday before the noon dismissal!
* Monday is Grandparents Day. The 2nd grade will be singing Thanksgiving songs that they learned in Music class at 9:35 in the gym. I am asking for all students to meet in the classroom no later than 9:25 if they are going around visiting/taking pictures with their Grandparents. We will walk down as a class to sing. Church is at 10:45 and dismissal from school is at 12:00 as well as on Tuesday.
Spelling - Please complete and return Backpack Page 41.
Math - Flashcards! We will be doing another timed-test soon! Mrs. Denver gets the papers and records the data. When I get these back, I'll return them.
* From our Super magazine we made the "Fire Cracker" snack that they mentioned. See if your child remembers all of the ingredients and directions!
* A letter, baby food jar, and a bag of tissue paper for the Reconciliation project went home today. Someone left the letter in school. It has information and the directions so if you don't have the letter, please let me know!! It's due on December 7th, but if it's done beforehand, feel free to bring it in. Don't forget first and last name on the bottom of the jar.
* Thanks so much to those who volunteered for the field trip. Mrs. Ramirez and Mrs. Murphy were chosen!
* The Super Kids informational meeting is tomorrow if you are able to attend. A blue sheet went home with the details.
Reading - Read several times Backpack Page 40 to practice fluency.

Math - Flashcards
* Our Advent Outreach program this year is collecting new pajamas for all ages. All students can wear pajamas this Friday. We will have an assembly Friday afternoon and get more information. The following is some information from the school blog:
There are untold numbers of children throughout our country that have never known the comfort of being tucked into bed in new pajamas with a bedtime story.
We, at St. Juliana School, have joined together with Classroom Cares and Scholastic Books to make a difference.
This Friday, November 18th, is our all-school KICK-OFF to launch our Advent Outreach Program … the Pajama Project! As such, the students will be allowed to wear pajama/sweat pants with a t-shirt/sweatshirt, and shoes (no slippers). Please note our uniform policy in that all apparel must be appropriate.
More detailed information will be posted on Friday in addition to a letter that will be sent home to parents.

Religion - Study for Chapter 5's test on Wednesday. Go on blestarewe.com and try out the pretest!
* Field Trip money is due by the 28th. Please let me know by Wednesday morning if you would like to chaperone. I'll pick out of a bowl and let you know on Wednesday. Thanks in advance!!

* The class made beautiful Veterans Day cards yesterday. They will be delivered today at the V.F.W. Hall in Park Ridge. Thank a Veteran today!

Religion - Start studying for Chapter 5's test that will be on Wednesday. You will need to know the events in order of the Forgiving Father story and reread the story of Saul. Also, write about one way you can use your gift of free will to do good. Chapter 5 formally starts us off talking about Reconciliation.
* Pop tops out of uniform tomorrow! Thanks for bringing them in!
* Book orders due tomorrow.
* Please remember to dress appropriately for outdoor recess. It's a cold one today!
Spelling - Backpack Page 38 is for homework and to be returned.
Math - Flashcards and finish pages 83+84 if needed.
* Grandparents Day invitations are coming home today with information about the 21st.

* If ordering Book Orders they are due by Friday.
* We have Mass tomorrow.
Spelling - Backpack Pages 35+36. One has the Memory Words and the other has the Pattern Words. Keep at home.
Math - A new batch of flashcards are coming home. Please practice along with the others.
* On Friday, a blue paper came home talking about deceased Grandparents. You can bring in the name(s) and a photograph (or drawing) on the colored paper(s) your child brought home. As they come in we will be praying for all the Grandparents in our special intentions. If you need more paper, just let me know. Grandparents Mass is on the 21st and more information will be coming home.
* We had two Safe Route Ambassadors from the Chicago Department of Transportation come and talk to us about bike safety and walking safety. Ask your child about it!
* Please review, sign, and return the Unit Test.
* Thanks so much to Mrs. Simonetti and Mrs. Rawa for being our Art Moms today. The kids did beautiful self-portraits!

Math - Practice all flashcards. Some may want to go on ixl.com to do some extra time practicing those flashcards. We will start our timed drills very shortly.
Religion - Study for the test tomorrow. Know two ways you can pray and try out the pretest on blestarewe.com.
* We are taking the Unit Progress Test 2 this week, so there will not be a Spelling test or Backpack Pages.
* Please share your Halloween candy. Bring in your wrapped candy tomorrow. The candy will be used for bag lunches for the homeless made by our Saint Vincent Depaul Society.

* Report cards go home on Friday. Keep the AR and STAR information that will be included.
