Math - Don't forget to get the flashcards signed.
* Your child's A.R. average and points as of this morning is coming home today. The 1st quarter ends on 10/28 and everyone should have at least 5 points, but more importantly a high percentage which shows the level of comprehension. I don't need the papers back. You are always able to access the information from the sheet the librarian sent home in the beginning of September.
* Out of Uniform tomorrow!

* We have a pop-tops out of uniform pass that we are going to use on Friday. Thanks to those who brought them in!

* Please sign and return the Religion test.
* We have Mass tomorrow.
Spelling/Reading - We are taking the Unit 1 Progress test this week, so there will not be a Spelling test on Friday or any Backpack pages sent home.
Religion - Study for the Chapter 2 Religion test tomorrow. Try out the pretest on Blestarewe.com
Math - A new batch of flashcards were sent home. Please cut and practice with the others.
* Please return green Track-a-Thon sheets with the $.
Religion - Study for the Chapter 2 test on Tuesday. Reread the chapter and focus on the story of Cornelius and his family, the 4 signs of Baptism, and you will be asked to write one way you can bring the light of Christ to others.

Spelling - Study for the test tomorrow.
Math - Flashcards
* Return Track-a-Thon sheets tomorrow. We run from 12:00-12:45. Please dress according to the weather and wear comfortable shoes. Join us if you can!
Reading - Please read Backpack Page 15 several times to practice fluency.

* Everyone looked so pretty and handsome for Picture Day today!
* Please return Track-a-Thon sheets tomorrow.
Math - Some need to finish pages 27+28 and return tomorrow and flashcards.
Spelling - Please complete and return Backpack page 14. Yesterday's page only had the pattern words so I would suggest you write down the Memory Words on yesterday's page because you need to return 14 tomorrow.
* Please return the green Track-a-Thon sheets and Picture Day $.
* Tomorrow is Mass and Picture Day.

Spelling - The new words came home today. Please complete Backpack Page 13 and use it to study from during the week. The test will be on Friday, I promise :)
Math - A new batch of flashcards came home today. Please cut, initial, and add to the ziploc bag. Practice all flashcards.
* Please return picture money by Wednesday. School pictures are on Wednesday and there is no FSP lunch.
* Please return the green Track-a-Thon sheets by Thursday. Second grade runs on Friday from 12:00-12:45. Please join us if you can. Feel free to bring a water bottle to school (maybe freeze it the night before and wrap and put in ziploc bag so it doesn't drip) and wear comfy clothes and shoes!
* A lot of business came home today including the Mothers' Club Hot Lunch order form.
* We started our Book Club today reading, Frog and Toad Together. Many of the trade books are on A.R. Keep reading for A.R.!
* We have library tomorrow.
* Have a great day!
Spelling - Study for the test tomorrow (I made the mistake of saying it was today on my blog yesterday, sorry!).
Also, complete and return Backpack Page 11.

Religion - Study for the Chapter 1 test tomorrow. We played a review game today. See yesterday's post about the pretest information.
Math - Practice/sign flashcards
* We have Mass tomorrow.
Spelling - Practice your spelling words for the week. Keep the Backpack page.
Religion - Study for the Chapter 1 test that will be on Wednesday. Reread the stories and concentrate on the highlighted parts. You will be asked to write one way you can you show that you are a member of the Church. Go on Blestarewe.com today or tomorrow to take the pretest. Click on Chapter Reviews, choose grade, and then chapter.
Math - Your child received their first batch of flashcards (on orange paper). Please cut them out carefully so you have a total of 8 and keep in the ziploc bag inside of the white envelope. Each card should be initialed, just in case they fall on the floor. Please practice daily and sign/date the envelope. This should be brought back to school daily so I can check. Practice the fact family so eventually they will be memorized.
* We have library tomorrow, so please return books that are due.
* Picture Day information came home today.
Spelling - Complete Backpack page and hand in tomorrow. Study for the test.

* If ordering Scholastic Book orders, they are due tomorrow. Make sure it's a check. I'll be ordering after school.

Spelling - Please study your new Spelling words for this week off of the Backpack page.
* Scholastic Book Orders came home today. If you are ordering, they are due by Friday, checks only.
* Please empty out the Business Folder. Many papers came home today.
* AR - A few wanted to take an AR quiz today without finishing the whole book. The whole book needs to be read and maybe even reread to comprehend it more clearly. When you are ready to take a quiz, either write the book's name with author down or bring in the book. If you're not sure if the book is on AR, go to
www.arbookfind.com and type in the book. The goal for the first quarter is 5 points.
