Joshua did a great job being classroom helper today!
Science/Reading: We are learning so much about Johnny Appleseed and apples. Ask your child to tell you the story of Johnny Appleseed; ask your child to name the parts of an apple.
Spelling: test Friday; keep practicing!
Remember: everyone needs to bring in a peeled, sliced apple tomorrow. We will be making applesauce! Yum!

Reading: Johnny Appleseed; new word cards sent home to practice; read take home book several times and return tomorrow.
Math: three digit addition; missing addend; using a chart
Friday: we will use an out-of-uniform pass; Mother's Club hot lunch
Don't forget: (1) need to donate an item for a girl to create Easter basket for less fortunate child; Thursday, bring in sliced, peeled apple.

We walked with Jesus during Stations of the Cross today.
Everyone did a GREAT job putting on The Knee High Man for our kinder and 2nd grade audiences!
Reminders: our classroom needs to build an Easter basket for a less fortunate family. Please bring an item for the basket and, if anyone has a large basket of any kind, we need one to put the items into.

Math: in computer lab we worked on IXL Math; your child should be doing this at home several times/week. Try A7, A10, A15

We've been learning about influential African-Americans. Ask about Martin Luther King, Jr., Rosa Parks, Ruby Bridges, and the underground railroad.

Today you will find: results of "giraffe words" testing.
Math: timed test (explanation) all problems completed w/i the 5 min time limit are ABOVE the yellow highlight; students were then given another 5 min. to complete the test; So, competed problems was what your child was able to complete w/i 10mins. IF your child could not complete with test w/i 10 minutes, s/he needs to practice math facts daily on IXLmath.
