Room 6 is enjoying our new learning theme, Nursery Rhymes, and the letter I.
This week the children painted Mary at the painting station and then glued wool on a lamb for Mary.
Today the children enjoyed making Humpty Dumpty!
In the journals the children completed a piece of work titled 'I spy with my little eye...'.
The children are also having fun picking an item out of my 'Nursery Rhyme' bag and the class reciting the nursery rhymes that includes the item.
Today we had a very special visitor to Room 6. Auntie Ellen was Norah and Dylan's Mystery Guest. We had such a great time finding out about our special friends Norah and Dylan. Norah is a dancer! Norah does tap and ballet dancing. Norah is the happiest when she is dancing. Norah's proudest accomplishments are being able to swim, writing her name, and how well she can draw. Norah always does beautiful work in school and she uses lots of color. Well done Norah! One of Norah's favorite toys is the leap-pad or as Norah calls it her ipad! Norah's favorite ice-cream is strawberry, her favorite food, shell mac-n-cheese, and her favorite pizza topping, cheese and mushroom. I'm coming over for dinner Norah!
Dylan is a hockey star! Dylan is a very talented athlete. In gym when Dylan throws the ball we all stand back. Dylan's proudest accomplishments are being able to swim, learning to skate, and writing his first name. Well done Dylan! Dylan demonstrated to the class how to hold his hockey stick and hit the puck. At the end of the day each child got the chance to hold the hockey stick and hit the puck. I think Room 6 would make a great hockey team! Dylan's favorite ice-cream is chocolate, his favorite food, regular mac-n-cheese, and his favorite pizza topping, cheese and sausage. I'm coming over for dinner Dylan!
Auntie Ellen read a great book to the class titled 'How big is a million?'. This was such a great book. It is a great book to reinforce estimating and number knowledge in math. It showed the class how big was ten, one hundred, one thousand, and one million. At the end of the book Auntie Ellen pulled out a giant sheet containing one million stars. Another great book for our reading lists!
It was lovely meeting Auntie Ellen. She was such kind lady and a great help in Room 6 today. Room 6 loves Auntie! Thanks for the wonderful visit!
