5th Grade: Study multiplication facts and IXL Grade 3 Time is due by 5/3/12.
6th: Study addition facts and IXL Grade 4 due 5/3/12.
7th: Study addition facts and IXL Grade 4 due on 5/3/12.
8th: IXL Grade 4 Time due 5/3/12. Some students have low grades because they did not finish their IXL Grade 3 Time. If students want to make up this work they need to have it completed by 5/3/12.

Row 1 ONLY on the B23 Sheet. Goal finish row 1 in 20 seconds.
1. Orally say the problem with the answer 3 times.

7th Grade Chapter 6 Retake Test
Following is the recommended method to study for this test:
1. Study your notes and make sure you know your vocabulary:
-Divisibility Rules (Index Card can be used on test)
-Prime Factorization
-GCF
-Simplifying Fractions
-Decimals to Fractions
-Repeating Decimals to Fractions
-LCM
-Probability
-Scientific Notation
We went over all these in class today and the class took down the notes.
2. Redo all your homework problems you got incorrect and then check to make sure you got them right. If not review you work and see if you can figure it out. If not call a friend, ask a parent/sibling, use the internet to take a lesson on that topic (You Tube is really helpful and has professional teachers teaching the topics).
3. If you feel you need more practice then do the odd numbered problems in the textbook for the section you are having trouble on and check you answers in the back of the book.
4. Put all your notes away and take the test. You may use your divisibility index card and your multiplication table.

Homework - 4/17/12
2nd Reading: Study your flash cards and read 10 minutes.
We will have our weekly fluency, Wilson Words, and High Frequency Sight Words test on Friday, 4/20/12.
2nd Math: Study math fact flash cards. This week we are going to begin the Math-U-See Lessons 1 -10 review sheets. Students will work on these sheets at their own pace and when they have finished all of the review they will take the Unit 1 Test.
3rd Math Facts: Study your subtraction facts. Use your old mad minute sheets to make flash cards have someone in your family drill you for 5 minutes 4X per week.
5th: Page 352 Set A and Set B. We are reviewing prime and composite numbers and prime factorization.
6th: IXL Time Grade 3 needs to be completed by next Tuesday, 4/24/12.
7th: Chapter 6 Practice Test. The students were given a 40 minute test to work on. They worked on the test for 25 minutes in class. I have asked the students to set a timer for 15 minutes and then work on the test. When the timer goes off the students should mark where they were on the test and then complete the test. We are working on speed.
8th: 7-1 to 7-3 Practice Worksheets EVENS ONLY! We will grade these sheets in class and then have a quiz on 7-1, 7-2, and 7-3.

7th: Chapter 6 Test corrections and parent signature. A retake will be on Thursday, 4/19/12. We will practice in class on tuesday and wednesday. Each student's final Chapter 6 grade will be an average of their first test and the retake.
