I have been approached by several parents requesting summer tutoring. I do tutor in the summer once my contract with the Archdiocese of Chicago has expired. This year I will be able to tutor from 6/24/13 to 8/14/13. I provide remedial and enrichment tutoring during the summer in the subject areas of math and reading. Students in my resource classes will continue along with the school work they are currently working on. Reading Resource: Students will have a poem to practice reading out loud with scooping at home. I will listen to them read his/her poem back to me on Wednesday or Thursday. Please continue to read raz-kids.com.

3rd Math Resource: Minute Sheets.

4th: We will be working on Lessons 22-25 in Math-U-See this week, will continue to work on Rocket Math Facts - Multiplication.

5th: We will be working on Lessons 26-30 in Math-U-See this week, Rocket Math Multiplication, and IXL B.18 to B.20 is due on Friday.

6th: Monday Section 6-4 page 244 #10-32 ALL; Tues - None, Wednesay review 6.1 to 6.4, Thursday Quiz 6.1 to 6.4; Friday 6-5.

7th: Chapter 7 Test has been moved to Thursday. Sections 7.1 to 7.9. Monday Extra Practice 7-9 back of book, evens only. Tuesday practice test, Wednesdy Practice Multiple Choice Test, Thursday - Chapter 7 Test - Multiple Choice per class voting. Friday possible IXL or mini-unit on Section 7-10.

8th: My last week with my 8th graders. We will keep it light. IXL J is due on May 31, 2013. This will be the final grade for 8th grade. This week Tuesday - Day 2 of Section 3-2; Wed - No class; Thursday-Practice Quiz 3.1 and 3.2; Friday Quiz 3.1 and 3.2.

Reading: Reading students received a story in class today to practice at home. The students will read this story to me on Wednesday.

4th: If you did not complete you math worksheets in class please complete them for homework.

5th: IXL B.19, B.20 and B.21 is due next Monday, 5/20/13.

6th: IXL Z.15, Z.16, and Z.17 is due next Tuesday, 5/21/13

7th: IXL P.18, P.19, and P.21 is due next Thursday.

8th: We are in the home stretch. The 8th graders have two more assignments to hit in IXL. IXL 8th grade level I is due 5/17/13 and IXL grade 8 Level J is due 5/31/13.

Reading Resource: www.raz-kids.com is an on-line tool we are using to monitor a student's reading comprehension skills. The data we collect from your child's reading score is directly used in the classroom to better his/her reading skill. It is important that your child listens to, reads, and complete the quiz for 3 stories in raz-kids.com per week. Currently, there are several students who have not been in the program for over 10 days. If you have not logged in recently PLEASE log in tonight and complete a story. 1st-3rd Math: NONE

4th Math: Some students need to finish worksheets for class. 

5th: IXL Grade 5 B.18 and B.19. Be sure you know the formula for find the area of a triangle, area of a trapezoid, and the area of a parallelogram

6th: Tomorrow, 5/7/13 will be the IOWA ALGEBRA APTITUDE test. The Chapter 5 Test we were going to take tomorrow has been moved to Thursday.

7th: Section 7-5 page 298 #11-28 and 33-36. Remember to grade the odd number problems. If you got any odd number problems wrong please make corrections. This will be a graded homework assignment.

8th: Chapter 2 Test Part 1 - A study guide was passed out in class today. Please refer to the study guide for the specific problems the students most know for tomorrow's Chapter 2 test on sections 2-1 to 2-5.

1st-3rd Math: NONE

4th: IXL Grade 4 P12-P14 due tomorrow.

5th: IXL Grade 5 B.16 and B.17 due tomorrow.

6th: Chapter 5 Test tomorrow. Please make corrections for the practice test you received back today. Corrections are due tomorrow. Remember to correct and tell why you got the problem wrong.

7th: Take Home Quiz on sections 7-1 to 7-4 is page 653 #1-13, 17, 18. Please remember to follow the below requirements:

=>On looseleaf, first and last name, date, page #, number your problems, show your work, box answers, and NO CALCULATORS.

8th: Corrections on Chapter 2 Test due tomorrow. Assignment due on Monday, 5/6/13, is page 140-143 #9-77 odds. Students need to check the answers in the back of the book, make corrections, and turn in on  Monday, 5/6/13.

For the next 3 days we will be working on IXL in the Computer Lab. H1-H13 is due April 29, 2013. REMEMBER students can work up to whatever score they want on these categories. I will be taking an average of the scores from H1 thru H13.

Wow, it is hard to believe that Easter is upon us. The students have been hard at work. There are no homework assignments over break. Following are IXL due dates that are in the near future. Students may want to work on these over break.
