We will be making an Easter Basket for a third grade boy this year. The baskets will be sent to children at the Ascension/St. Susanna Parish, which is our sharing parish. If you would like to donate a small toy or candy that would be great. Thank you ahead of time for your generosity!!
If you have any extra empty baskets you would like to donate that would be great also.
# 2 pencils for Terra Nova Testing
Please send 2 #2 pencils - sharpened by Thursday. We will begin taking the In View Practice Test on Thursday morning and the Terra Nova Practice test on Friday this week. Throughout next week we will be testing in specific subject areas. Also, please make sure your child has a pink eraser that does not smudge. Keep as healthy as possible and please no early dismissals. We are so busy trying to cover material before the test and early dismissals are very disruptive. Thanks so much for your help.
Science- Reread D22-D27. Study vocab for lesson quiz. Begin studying lesson notes for Chap.7 Test on Thurs.
Spelling- Sound spelling if you did not finish in class

Reading-Read for AR
Today your child has brought home the 2's,3's and 4's flashcards. Please have your child practice with you every night. They need to say them aloud-2x3=6,3x2=6, 6 divided by 2=3, 6 divided by 3=2 for each card. It is extremely important that these facts be memorized. Please sign the envelope after they have been practiced. If they forget to bring these back to school signed they will have to stay in at recess and write all the cards out.
They do not need to do them on the weekend unless they are struggling with memorization.
Science- Reread Chap on Water Cycle and Weather. Complete lesson review for Weather and Study Water Cycle vocab. for Quiz.

Today information about the Terra Nova Test was sent home.
It is extremely important that everyone be present during the week of the testing.
I had to talk to the class today about their behavior in the lunchroom and in Church. Several children were very disruptive in the church pews after receiving ashes and communion today. Also, today in the lunchroom several children were screaming and Ms. Werner was very upset with our classroom. If this behavior continues with several children I will be requesting a conference.
Religion-Write 2 paragraphs about what it means to them to be in Church and appropriate church behavior.

Science- 5 questions at the end of the Weather lesson. Please answer in complete sentences.
Today is Shrove Tuesday. We went on the parking lot and burned last years palms for ashes tomorrow.
Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. The children will receive ashes at Mass.

Kleenex/Baby Wipes
Dear Parents,
It's that time of year when we run low on supplies. I would appreciate it if the boys could all bring in one box of Kleenex and the girls bring in one container of baby wipes. I have enough disinfecting wipes. Thanks!
Thank you to everyone who has already helped replenish our supplies.

President Report is due next Tuesday. I will be sending home the "report paper" on Thursday. This week they should be researching their President online or from books at the library. Their report needs to include important facts such as years in term, birth date, etc... This report should be at least 4-5 paragraphs. I sent home some websites to help find information on their President.

Math
Today Multiplication was introduced to your child. Eventually, multiplication/division flashcards will be introduced and sent home to practice everyday. These basic multiplication facts will need to be memorized.
Complete p. 216 #1-16 all Reread the rules for making a multiplication sentence from an array.
President Reports
Today your child picked a President to research for their report. They are to find important facts about their President. I will be sending home the report paper Thursday. All reports will be do on Monday.
Out of uniform tomorrow! Student Appreciation Day!
