Reminder:
Now that the weather is changing the children need to dress appropriately. We go outside for recess everyday. Please send your child to school with hats/gloves/boots.
Boots need to be worn to school whenever there is snow on the ground. They will not be allowed to wear wet shoes in the classroom. If they don't have boots-you can pack an extra pair of shoes.

Just a reminder:
St. Juliana School has joined together with Classroom Cares and Scholastic Books to make a difference. We are collecting new pajamas for the poor and Scholastic Book Clubs are matching with a book for each pair collected.

Below is the schedule for Monday. I wanted to remind you that if a grandparent is unavailable to attend you or anyone special to them are welcome to attend.
Grandparent's Day Schedule
8:30 - Refreshments in the gym
9:00 – 10:30 Several activities available, Visit classrooms, Black Top Ball pictures (There is a small fee for pictures) and/or Class Performances in the gym.

9:00 - Prayer and Blessing from Rm 28, 3rd Grade)
9:15 - Preschool Songs
9:30 - Spanish Class Presentation (Children from Rm 27, 3rd Grade)
9:45 - Power Point Presentation (Children from 8th Grade)
10:00 - Music Class – singing ( Children from 2nd Grade)
10:15 - Poem (Children from 1st Grade)
10:30 - Gather in church
10:45 - Mass
Noon - Dismissal from school

Thank you to those who were able to meet earlier this week. If you are unable to attend your given time next week please email me inadvance so we can reschedule your time. If you have a 6:30-7:45 time and would like to switch to 4:30-5:30 time I am available but there are no openings for the 6:30-7:45 time slot.
Reminder that tomorrow is Pajama Day. Dress appropriately and remember we go out for recess. Dress for the weather:)

Advent Outreach
There are untold numbers of children throughout our country that have never known the comfort of being tucked into bed in new pajamas with a bedtime story. We, at St. Juliana School, have joined together with Classroom Cares and Scholastic Books to make a difference.
This Friday, November 18th, is our all-school KICK-OFF to launch our Advent Outreach Program … the Pajama Project! As such, the students will be allowed to wear pajama/sweat pants with a t-shirt/sweatshirt, and shoes (no slippers). Please note our uniform policy in that all apparel must be appropriate.
More detailed information will be posted on Friday in addition to a letter that will be sent home to parents.

Social Studies- Study the placement of the continents and the oceans. They don't have to memorize how to spell each one. Ask your child about the review activity we played on the smartboard for the continents and oceans.

Social Studies- Write out the names of the 7 continents twice. We are having a test on the placement and spelling of each on Monday. (not tomorrow as orginally planned)

Today your child brought home their 1st Quarter Report Card. Please review with your child and sign the back and return on Monday. I am still looking for people to switch conference times to another day. Please email me if you would like to meet with me before or after school someday. Thanks!

English- Today we opened and read letters that were sent to us from students at Christ the King school in England. We now have pen-pals!! Think about what you want to let your pen-pal from England know about you. We will be writing a friendly letter tomorrow and typing it in the computer lab.
Reading-Cause and Effect worksheet
Math-p 105 odds only. Practice addition flashcards. Many do not have their math facts memorized. I see some counting on fingers!!!
Spelling-ABC order and sound spelling if you have not finished in class.
Reading- Reread "City Green" to someone aloud.
Math- Finish p 103 #1-23. Set A P146 All.
Social Studies-Reread Lesson 1. Complete info organizer for Raleigh, N.C Only complete sentences will be excepted. Many are rushing and making silly mistakes.
Religion-Today is All Saints Day and we went to Mass. When we complete Chap 7 this week we will start our study about Saints.
