Happy 1st day of Sept. Now if it would just cool off!

Several children have missing assignments already! Please understand that if your child has an unusual amount of homework it is because they are not finishing it in school. I give them an adequate amount of time in class to finish.

Reading-Reread "Grandfather's Journey" complete pg.44 #1-5

If you did not finish work in school today you have homework in the below subjects.

Spelling- Finish 8 sentences pg. 18-19 (last nights homework)

Science- vocab. definitions for lesson 1

Math- pg.5 #6-30

Spelling-Complete ABC order/Sound spelling and pg. 18-19 in spelling workbook (if you did not finish in school).

Today we wrote stories about what we did over the Summer. I was very impressed with their writing skills. Their stories will be hanging in the hallway on Parent Night. Be sure to take a peek.

We will be attending our first all school Mass of the year tomorrow. All are welcome to attend our Wednesday Masses at 8:45.

Uniforms are to be worn tomorrow but they may still bring a water bottle to school.

English-Pg.53 #1-15 odd only

The class can bring a water bottle to school tomorrow and no uniforms. We do have an air conditioner but it doesn't work very well.:(

Everyone seems to have adjusted nicely to the 1st week of school. Classroom rules and routines are falling into place.

On Friday an "All About Me" page was sent home. Please have your child complete this and return on Monday. Include a family picture at the bottom. We are making a class book.

I am looking forward to meeting everyone this Thursday (Parent Night). We will review the curriculum and answer any questions that you may still have.

Reminder to bring gym shoes for gym class this Friday.

Welcome back! We had a great 1st day. I loved seeing all their smiling and eager to learn faces today.
Few reminders below:
Business folders came home today. Please fill out all paperwork and send back ASAP!
Each student was given an assignment notebook. Please send $4.00 to school in an envelope marked "assignment notebook" money.
Four textbooks need to be covered. I will supply the paper book covers. However, in the past students and parents like the JUMBO stretchy book covers which can be purchased at the store. I will send paper ones home on Thursday.
Please send a smock (old t-shirt) for art and headpones for the lab.
Ask your child if they had all their supplies today. Some forgot various items.
Don't forget to pack a lunch tomorrow (2:00 dismissal).

I wish the best of luck to all of you in Fourth grade. I know all of you are well prepared to succeed next year. You all embraced each day of learning with much enthusiasm and confidence. It has been a pleasure to teach each of you this year. I have enjoyed watching each of you grow socially and academically throughout this year. I am very proud of all that you have accomplished throughout third grade. Keep reading and occasionally review multiplication/division. It's easy to forget the steps to long division if you don't continue to practice.

I’d also like to thank your parents for their positive support throughout this school year. It has been a fantastic year!

I will miss all of you. Enjoy your Summer!

Tomorrow is the last day.:( We will attend Mass at 9:00. All are welcome! The children will dismiss from church. I will wait with them until they are all picked up.

Please wear uniforms and they do not need a backpack.

Today we cleaned out our desks.I'm sure you noticed by the contents in their backpacks. Thank you to everyone who brought in Lysol wipes and rags today. I will return the unused wipes on Tuesday. Please return business folders on Monday with backpacks. We still have a few things left to go home.

Terra Nova test results for 3rd,5th,and 7th grade students are going home in the Report Cards.
