This week we will le learning:

Reading: We are reviewing all of our skills for our unit test on Thursday and Friday. We will be looking at fact/nonfact, main idea, context clues and root words.

Math: We will continue on long division and measurment. We will also be working on word problems. Keep up with those flashcards!

English: We are finishing our essay on wind and solar power as alternatives to fossil fuels. They are doing and EXCELLENT job with their writing. I am really impressed. Look for their draft that will be coming home on Thursday for corrections.

Science: We are finishing our unit on resources. We will have a test next Tuesday. We will be reviewing this week and also work on a project on how to clean water!

Religion: We are working on prayer and looking at what Jesus said about asking for what you need and you will recieve. We have also looked at the difference between and need and a want.

We really have a lot going on this week in class. This is what we will be working on:

Reading: Main idea. We are going to look for the main idea and supporting details in our Reading book this week. We will then apply our skills to other texts. Anyone can view these web pages but the students can edit them if they remember the user name and password. They are still a work in progress but they are very interesting.

Writing: This week to coincide with our reading story and our science lesson we are going to research solar power and wind power and write an essay on the advantages and disadvantages to these types of power.

Math: We are still working on units of measurement and long division.

Science: We are learning about the Earth's resources and the importance of saving them. We are going to look at the effects of pollution and how we can make a difference.

Religion: We will be looking at the importance of prayer and the Holy Spirit. We will also learn about the difference between what we need and what we want.

This week we will be covering the following:
Reading: We are still working on the story Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. We have broken up into our newspaper groups and they have started writing their articles. We will have the webpages up and running on Wednesday. I will put the webpage addresses on this site. On Friday the students will put on a newscast. It should be a lot of fun!

Math: We are continuing with long division and also with measurement.

Science: We will be looking at ways to conserve our resources. We will also do an experiment to try and "mine" the resources from a cookie.

Religion: We are finishing up Chapter 7 and we will have a test on Friday.

Spelling: This is a review week so we will not have a test this week.

Science: Keep a water log. List all the times and ways you used water today and tomorrow morning.

Tomorrow is Religion Day. Everyone needs to bring in a snack and a juice or water for the morning. There will be mass at 12:45 so everyone will need to come in uniform.
