Great Start
It was wonderful to see everyone back on Wednesday. We had a really good week and I am looking forward to a great year with both the 7th and 8th graders.
Homeroom: you are awesome!!! All forms that were distributed on Wednesday were back by Friday!!!!! Forms for the Leadership Day were distributed on Thursday and all but five were returned on Friday!!!!
One more order of business: order forms for the novels that we are going to read in Reading class are due on Tuesday. Please return them even if you do not need to order any of the books. I am going to place the order after school on Tuesday so please have them returned by then. I just want to make sure that you have the opportunity to order these novels at the reduced prices if you need them. You are welcome to purchase them yourselves but I am quite sure that the prices I was able to get are cheaper than you will be able to find. Some students were able to find some of the books at Half Price Books.Thank you for returning the orders by Tuesday.
8th Graders will be attending a Leadership Day on Thursday at St. John Brebeuf. There will be 8th graders there from all of the schools in our council. I am sure that it will be a good day for all of us. I explained to the students that we wil not return to school until 2:30 (2:00 dismissal day). If your 8th grader is responsible for a younger student, would it be possible to make another arrangement for that day? If not, the younger student is welcome to go to extended care until their 8th grader can pick them up at 2:30. There will be no charge for this, but please let me know if you need to do this so that I can let the people at extended care know to expect some "guests" that day. Thank you for your help with this.
8th Religon: We will be studying Church History this year in our textbooks.
7th Religion: The 7th grade text deals with the study of Jesus. We will begin Confirmation preparation in January.
8th Reading: We will be reading 6 novels this year. They are listed on the order form that was sent home last week. Hopefully, we will begin our first novel next week. Last week and this week we are using a literature series.
