FYI:Out of uniform again tomorrow!! Thanks to Lauren who emailed me the results of her blestarewe.com test!!!I'd love to hear from all of you! We talked took our first STAR test today in the computer lab. Can't wait to see all the results! Star test is a diagnostic tool used to give us insight to reading abilities. We hoped to take our first AR test but time ran out. Maybe tomorrow? We discussed the four questions that should be asked before attempting to take a test. See who can recall them!

Our homework for tonight is:

Spelling - Backpack p. 4.  This paper needs to be returned to school tomorrow.

Religion - Start studying the highlighted text in your book for chapter 1.  Be prepared to tell one way you are a member of the Catholic Church.  You can go on blestarewe.com and click on the 2nd grade book.  Take a pretest for this chapter.

F.Y.I. - Tomorrow and Friday we will be out of uniform because of the hot weather. 

We will be having gym tomorrow.  I hope everyone has an art smock by Friday.

I was not able to get on the school web site yesterday due to a change in the format. So... here's hoping I will be able to get on today! The homework for tonight is: Reading-Read the fluency story that went home today. Do it quite a few times to increase fluency reading. Try to read with expression and be mindful of all punctuation marks. Math- the next homework page Spelling-Study the words for the test which will be on Friday. That is our routine- test every Friday in Spelling. FYI:Thanks to Jackson for finding a snail and sharing it with the class. We googled to find out what they eat. Thanks to Sean who brought in a hermit crab for us to observe. Very cool! We are learning the routines here at school daily. Today we had our first chance to read in our SUPER magazine. Such fun and interesting stories! Enjoy the night!

We had a great first day of school today!What a lovely class I have!! We got to hear all of the fun things everyone did over the summer.We discussed and wrote down many new rules to abide by which will make our room and school a very safe place to be. See who remembers some of them! Many thanks for all the supplies you donated. We really appreciate it.

Today the white business folder went home. Please return all mail for me in that folder. Your child knows to empty it and place the papers in the tray on my desk. Please remind them of this.

Tomorrow we dismiss at 2:00. Bring a lunch!

It is my honor and pleasure to work with your child and you this year. We are working on a new "Building Peace" Project here at St. Juliana. Looking forward to an exciting year!
