Our homework for tonight is:
Reading--Read that Backpack page for fluency. You can keep it at home to continue practicing with. I sent home a match game also. Don't forget to draw two of those vocabulary words. You can use whatever you want to draw with. You do not have to know how to spell those long words!
Math-a few people had to finish their math pages at home. I think it looks like most everyone needs to review those addition/subtraction facts!
FYI:Today at Mass, Fr. Steve told us we were holy and sacred! He also asked all of us as we start the new year to treat each other as we want to be treated. We are all brothers and sisters! We sang our "Bless Are We" song yesterday in which we learned that we are all chosen people of God.
We practiced our Fire Drill today.
No Gym tomorrow but Friday instead. Be sure to have Gym shoes and girls wear your shorts!
As you may have heard, no uniforms for the remainder of the week! Flip-flops are not allowed!
Enjoy the weather!
Our homework for tonight is:
Reading: Complete the Backpack Page that went home in the green Homework folder. Don't forget to put your name on it! Place it in the homework bin when you come in!
My suggestion is to make a copy of the spelling words if you can. They will be tested on these words on Friday. Only three from the pattern side will be chosen. All from the Memory side will be given for sure.
FYI:We took our first STAR test in the computer lab today! I can't wait to see the results. We also learned about Safety on the computer. Who remembers what a Cyber Bully is?
Have a great night! Enjoy the weather!!!
OOPS! I forgot to mention about the book covers. We need three books to be covered. Two are small and one is large. So many of the students love those stretchy book covers and those are acceptable but the only draw back is that one of them must be the JUMBO/extra large size, otherwise it will not fit on the big Science book. If you want the paper book covers, I have them here. I will send them home if your child lets me know that you want them instead of the stretchy kind. Thanks!
Today we spent some time getting to learn the characters in our new Reading Series. They are so much fun to hear about. We ran out of time because of the early dismissal but tomorrow we will get to meet them all. Be thinking of which one you most resemble!
We talked a lot about the rules again today. Some need to get back into the "raise your hand to talk mode." We will be working out the kinks! Remember, there are times to be quiet and times you may chat!
See you all tomorrow for the continuation of the SUPERKIDS!!
Don't forget it is a full day and everyone needs a lunch.
I got an email from the art teacher that she wants 2 pencils and 2 glue sticks to be kept in her room. Too bad I sent those extras home!!!!! Sorry, I did not know!
We had a great day today getting to know each other!Tomorrow we get to learn more about each other by completing tonight's homework. I hope everyone has been thinking about the four things to put in that brown bag! This will help me get to know you quickly. Be ready to tell why you brought each item. The items must fit inside the bag!
A warm welcome goes out to Meghan who is new to our school. Let's all make her feel at home in her new surroundings!
I will meet you outside on the playground again tomorrow. Be sure to have your Business Folder with you. This goes home and back every day even if it is empty. Any "Mail for me" goes in the marked tray on my desk.
FYI: Usually every day parents want to know what when on at school. Usually everyday the reply from the student is "Nothing." So.....to help jog a memory, I usually put some things down that we did for openers! So be sure to check in here each day for homework assignments and memory jogs!
Today we learned a Soldiers' Prayer that we will be saying everyday. We learned some things about Mrs. Cahill. What are the four
things I would put in my brown bag?
Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow. Don't forget your lunch and that we go home at 2:00.
Well, it was great to meet all of you today! It was fun to see some familiar faces. Thanks so much for bringing in all your supplies ahead of time. Now we don't have to bother will all that tomorrow!See you in the morning! Remember, dismissal is at 11:30 and we will dismiss out the Touhy Avenue door that is closest to the church. Mrs. C.
