Thoughts from 32!
FYI:Just a quick reminder that we have to come in uniform for mass tomorrow. Please no need for backpacks either since we took all possessions home today!
Thanks to Mrs. LaSusa and Mrs. Novosel for putting together an end of year bash for us! We had voted on a movie to watch and Toy Story 3 won. We watched it on the "big screen" in the library and were indulged with LOTS of treats while viewing. We had chocolate bars and Skittles and Fruit Roll-ups followed by popcorn and cookies and water bottles! (I am sure I missed some other treat that was there as well.) Mrs. LaSusa presented everyone with their "ticket to third grade." (which looked just like a theater ticket for those of you who never saw it!!!)So thanks again for making our school year a memorable one. Many thanks to Mrs. Byrne too, who I think supplied the popcorn?
A great big round of applause for all our Art Moms too! We had a great year filled with many interesting artists. We had many opportunities to imitate these artists with our own renditions. Thanks again.
Kudos, too, to all the moms who donated to our treasure chest/candy jar! Mrs. Baranek was especially generous in always coming through for us when the prizes got low. It brought such excitement and anticipation to our days! Thanks to all!!!
Well, this brings me to my last blog with everyone. It is always a sad day on the last day of school for me. I am happy though that they are moving onto the next grade because I feel confident that they all will do fine provided they refresh themselves over the summer months. I have subscribed to ixl.com until Sept. 10 so that is always an option to keep that knowledge gained, fresh in your minds throughout the summer. Also, the flashcards can be put away for awhile but I strongly recommend reviewing them over the summer as well. I suggested if you are taking a long road trip, it might be a way to occupy them! Some have really gotten proficient with them as today's test packet will show. Others just haven't progressed much since September. There is no need to return these tests to me. You can keep them at home.
I hope your child enjoyed this year. It was an exciting year! Two sacraments! WOW! I hope I have also instilled a love of country and patriotism. I told them I better not see them on TV someday without their hand on their hearts for the National Anthem and singing loud and proud!!!Also,I hope all will continue the Soldiers' Prayer which we have said everyday since September. I also have encouraged them to be the ones to "start the clapping" when you see a soldier in uniform at airports, etc. We have much to thank them for!
So again I want to thank you for allowing me to teach your child. I hope they have learned a lot about their faith from me. I hope they will continue throughout life to make the sign of the cross when they hear an ambulance or police siren. "Someone is in trouble." I hope they found comfort in hearing about heaven from the book I read to them. I hope they can pass on some of this info to others as I have been doing! After all we are all disciples of God, aren't we?
So this brings me to the end of my blog. May you all have a wonderful fun-filled summer. You have my email--please feel free to email me from the parents' email address. I will answer all!! God bless! And don't forget to say"Hi" next time you see me!!!
With love,
Mrs. Eileen Cahill
