If we get more tops, we can add some more days out of uniform when the weather gets hotter!(I personally am hoping it stays cool until the end of the year with the air conditioner we have!!!)
Thanks to Taylor who brought in some more nice prizes for our treasure chest! If you have not had the chance to donate to our chest yet---this would be a great time to do so! Thanks in advance!!!
I can't believe the school year is coming to a close already! I would love to keep them longer. We were just getting to really know one another!!!! It has been fun! I hope your child has had as much fun as I have!

Homework for tonight is:
Spelling- Sentences
Math-Flashcards.
FYI: We had a great time at the Museum! The 3D Shark Show was great! It felt as though we were swimming with th sharks beside us! Thanks to Mr. Cohen, our fearless leader, Mrs. Emery, and Mrs. McLaughlin for chaperoning us. We had a great day thanks to them keeping us safe!
P.S. We are going to be in the school May Crowning on the 15th. We ARE NOT going to wear our Communion clothes, so you can pack them away! We are just going to sing a song on the altar that day. They are featuring the 3 sacramental grades that day as well as the 8th graders who will be crowning Mary.

Our Homework tonight is:
Math: the flashcards! We have some great mathematicians amongst us. Check out the Math Wall of Fame when you come up on Saturday!
Spelling--Study for the test!
FYI: Thanks Elliott for showing us your demonstration with the Solar Powered calculator. Makes us more appreciative of the power of the sun!
We had a break from Communion practice today! We have been so busy trying to get all our work done in between all our activities. Remember, tomorrow is out of uniform! We practiced those responses again today in our room. Thanks to Mrs. Delaney, Mrs. Cohen, Mrs. Voulgaris for coming in around 8:30 to help hang the banners for our big day. We will be practicing again tomorrow with the CCD class. Our prayers seem to be answered so far. Rain is in the forecast for every day except Saturday! ( But in the event that it really pours, we will meet in the choir loft of church.) I again reminded the children to scuff up those new shoes so they don't slip on the marble altar. Be sure to have them eat a nice breakfast as the mass runs very long! The ones who don't have a solid breakfast don't do so well!

Our homework for tonight is :
Math---FLASHCARDS!!
Science--The Earth Day paper is due! Check yesterday's web to find out the specifics if you need to. Color it!
Reading--Read the little pull-out story from the Practice Book for extra practice on those vocabulary words.
Spelling--You may want to finish up your spelling word sentences.
FYI:We attended our first
Battle of the Books competion today! We saw how it all works and maybe next year we will have some students that will participate!
Glad to see you back, Will, with your HARD cast on!
Our class met with Mrs. Janos (Social Worker ) to discuss some of the lures that might be used to kidnap children. So now we feel confident on how to react if someone were to approach us! We can never be too safe out there.

Our homework for tonight is:
Reading--Do the Vocab. sheet and get it signed. Read, The Wednesday Surprise.
Spelling- You may want to do 5 more great and wonderful sentences. You may want to use some possesive pronouns, like your, my, her, his, our, its, their since that will be our focus this week.
Science- I am sending home a blank page titled Earth Day. We had a discussion in class today on reusing some items to make new things. We read a great story about a boy who dreams about the future. See if your child remembers some of the details about the story. With all this in mind, write down in sentence form some of the ways that your family might be able to help reduce the landfills and other ways you can help reduce, reuse and recycle. If you need more than the first page, just use lined paper to finish up the second sheet! This will be due on Thursday!!! Thanks in advance for helping to save our great country for future generations to come!!!

Our homework tonight is:
Spelling---Get a start on the spelling sentences.
Math--Flashcards!
Science---Since tomorrow is the official EARTH DAY, be sure to bring in something to be recycled., llike the information that was sent home last week mentioned. If we have total compliance, we will be rewarded with either an out of uniform pass or an extra recess depending on how the vote goes!
FYI:We practiced very well for our Communion this afternoon! Some still need to be reminded to make the sign of the cross properly! Can you go over this again at home tonight? Thanks!!!
I was reminding the children today to remember to scuff up the bottoms of their new shoes so that they aren't so slippery on the big day! Sometimes, a piece of masking tape does the trick as well. We don't want anyone falling on the marble altar!!

Our only homework tonight is to concentrate on those Flashcards and to review Chapter 10 in Religion for a test on Wednesday.. (We are back to testing!)
FYI: We are not starting a new reading lesson today as we have Friday off and are going to the play tomorrow in the afternoon. All this combined with our practicing for Communion takes a huge chunk out of our day. So... we are reviewing some old skills learned and doing some Scholastic Newspaper readings! (Some inadvertantly brought theirs home!!! :( So....if possible send them back!!! Thanks!
What beautiful banners are coming in! Thanks for all the time and effort put forth on these banners. I am sure you will be proud to see it hanging in the church on the big day!
