Thanks to Mrs. Delaney and Mrs. Merk, we had a wonderful time at our Halloween Party. Thanks to all of you too for providing the treats and stickers that helped to make the party a success. Please study for the math test on Tuesday. Study the chapter test area at the end of the chapter.
Also, study your highlighted section of the Religion book of Chapter 7. Our religion test will be on Wednesday.

Be sure to check and see if your student is doing their assignments and then if they have them in their homework folders. We are experiencing another rash of missing assignments. The only way to practice what we have learned in school is by doing the homework. That provides practice for the student and tells me whether or not they are understanding the concept. Thanks for all of your help.
Reading - Mrs. Casey's room - test on "Champions of the World." Study the vocab. and using a search engine. Also, study your vocab. for the other 4 stories too.
Math - Test on Tuesday. Study Chapter 1.
English - Worksheet. First divide the sentence between the subject and predicate. Then write the noun in the subject part of the sentence.
Spelling - 3x each. Skip a line between word sets. Test tomorrow on Unit 9.
Religion - Test on Wednesday. Begin studying the highlighted sections of the chapter.
Reading - Test Thursday on "Champions of the World." Also study using a search engine and all 5 vocabulary sheets for the End of Unit Test.
Math - Worksheet - do all of the problems except #5. Study for the test. We postponed the test until next Tuesday due to the shortened week.
Spelling - Sound spelling.
Just a note about All Souls Information Sheet - If you would like us to pray for anyone in your family that has passed away, send their name along with a picture for our "Remembering Board" or just their name without a picture if you don't have one. Then, at the bottom of the sheet list any grandparents that are deceased for the Mass that we may have for Grandparents' Day. Thanks.

Today we had students from UIC at our school talking to us about communities and their parts. We even made buildings and added them to our own city. What a great day of fun and learning! A special thanks to our leaders, Sylvia and Matthew. You were great!

Spelling - Write 8 good third grade sentences using 8 spelling words. Then go back and underline all of the nouns.

Jacob broke down the sport of football into the skills needed to play the game well. He showed us how each skill is performed and had a very good grasp of each one of them. Thanks for the information. Who knows what this will bring for Jacob in the future. Great job!

Kenny gave us some very useful tips on how to play football from the offensive stance as well as the defensive stance. From what he had to say, it seems like Kenny has been listening and following directions quite well. Maybe we will see him involved with the NFL some day. You never know!

OUT OF UNIFORM TOMORROW!
It would be great if you could send a note telling me that your child will not be going to extended care on a day when they may be scheduled. Sometimes children from extended care come and say that a child was supposed to come after school. It then becomes a little stressful if I think they have been picked up. Thanks for the help.
