Mayo or pickle jar.  

The long awaited test results should have arrived in your child's backpack today after school.  Please go over those results and be sure to read the suggestions for helping your child on the back of the bar graph and the following pages.  There are some tremendous ideas for helping your child during the summer months and then to follow next year.  I did assure the kids that these do not count for a grade and they are not percents but percentiles - much different.  Hopefully they understood a bit.  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me and we can set up a time to talk.  Happy reading!!! 

Yesterday we were lucky enough to be able to listen to Marty Hegarty, a cousin of one of the students in Mrs. Schneider's class.  He showed us the book he illustrated (his first one) and talked about how his dream was to do exactly what he is doing.  The story was written in dedication to two children with epilepsy.  The illustrations included their names and picturs of things they had drawn throughout the book.  What a great story, too.  It told of how we all are trying to get to a place where we fit in and can do what we have dreamt to do.  He was so interesting and he told us how illustrations are put together and how the author and illustrator work together to publish a great book.  Thanks, Marty.  And good luck to you in the future.  We will be looking forward to seeing your next book about a "sock monster."

Math - Do the worksheet.  Show your work on the scrap paper.  Test tomorrow.  Study the vocab. and chapter 6 along with p. 851.

Now is the time for all good students to step up the memorization of their math facts.  It is really beginning to show up in their long division.  I know it is not an easy task.  Thank you for all of your help.  We definitely can't do it without you!

I hope you have seen the video on our school website of the carnival for our peace building project.  Mrs. Granata did a fabulous job!!  I thought I would include some of the still pictures that were taken during the time our class was downstairs.What a fun time for everyone!! Thanks to the boys and girls that did so much work on the games.
