Our new Superkid Hot Rod will be teaching us all about the letter H. Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sound for "H". We will be learning about identifying words beginning with "h", blending words with "h", rhyming words, discuss car parts, things with wheels, racing, and problems and solution. Our new memory word is: the.
Please remember to return your child's report card if you have not done so already.
Please remember that Open House is on Sunday. Mass begins at 12 noon, we hope to see you there! Following the mass, you are invited to come back to take a look around the school until 3pm. If your child comes dressed in uniform, they will recieve an out-of-uniform to dress in spirit wear. This pass may only be used on Monday, January 30th. No other out-of-uniform passes may be used on this day.
Please be sure to bring in your 100 Day shirt if you have not done so already.
Thursday, February 2nd will be 100 Day. You child may come out of uniform. Please remember we will be putting their 100 Day shirt on over the shirt they wear to school. This will be a regular school day, half day friends will be dismissed at 11am. Please bring a snack for the afternoon.
Save the date: Friday, May 11th is our Parent Mass. It will begin at 9am. Your child will come with you to the church at this time and will go home with you after the reception at around 10:30am. Just a reminder, this is not a regular school day for Kindergarten students only. Please make arrangements for any younger siblings. More information will follow as the date draws nearer.
There is no school on Friday, February 3rd.
In honor of Ettabetta, we will be having an exercise out-of-uniform day! Please come dressed in your exercise wear.
We will continue to work with our Superkid friend Ettabetta this upcoming week. Please continue to reinforce all previous letters and memory words we have done so far this year.
If you were asked to contribute to the 100 Day Trail Mix and have not sent in your item, please do so as soon as possible. If you are unsure of what you were requested to send in, please contact your teacher.
Please also remember that 100 Day t-shirts should be completed and brought to school by Wednesday, January 25th.

We will be learning about identifying words beginning with "e", blending words with "e" in the middle, puzzles and riddles, and distinguishing between reality and fantasy.
Our prayer this month is the Guardian Angel prayer. The words are as follows:
Angel of God, my guardian dear,
To whom God's love commits me here.
Ever this day be at my side
To light, to guard,
To rule, to guide.
Amen
In math we are talking about comparing length and weight. Please reinforce this at home. Your child should also be able to count to 90 on their own.
Report cards will be coming home on Friday, January 20th. Please sign and return them as soon as possible.

Now that the cold weather is coming back, there will be lots more clothing items around the classroom. As you can imagine, not everything stays neatly in each student's bag in the coatroom throughout the day. Please make sure that you label everything that comes to school with your last name, especially any St. Juliana wear. This way, whatever gets misplaced can be returned to you as soon as possible.

In honor of our new Superkid Frits, who we will be meeting for the first time tomorrow, we will have a an out-of-uniform day. Please have your child dress in their favorite color for our first day talking about the letter F!
Our new Superkid Frits will be teaching us all about the letter F. Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sound for "F". We will be learning about different types of sentences, understanding the use speech balloons, discuss fish and fishing, compare and contrast, and summarizing.
Our new memory words are : I, Frits. Please also continue to practice all the other memory words from previous lessons.
In math we will be talking about time. Please make sure to reinforce the information taught on the sheets as they come home.
We will be working on learning the "Guardian Angel" prayer in religion. Please also practice this at home.
On Monday, January 9th there will be a picture taken for the yearbook of children of St. Juliana alum. Please send a note to your child's teacher to let us know if your child should be in this picture.
Just a reminder- Six Flags reading program tally sheet is due on February 22nd.
