Zipping Into a New Week!
This week we will be learning about the letters "Z". Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sound for both "Z". We will be learning about discussing photo albums, associating pictures with words and sentences, and adding "s" to make words plural. We will also be working with our new memory word: was.
We are now finished with our math book, so we will be reviewing with some supplemental sheets. Please continue to reinforce the math at home as well.
Our field trip to Seussical: The Musical is this Thursday, May 23rd. Students are to wear their Kindergarten t-shirts with khakis or school pants.
Last day of FSP hot lunch is this Friday, May 24th.
It is almost the end of the year, and we will be looking for some volunteers to wash items from the classroom before we pack up for the summer. Please let your teacher know if you are willing to help! Most things that will be sent home can be put in the dishwasher. Thank you!
There is no school on Monday, May 27th.

Kindergarten Mass
Kindergarten Mass is finally here! Please meet us in the church tomorrow morning at 8:50am, so we can begin promptly at 9:00am. Your child will know where you can sit together as a family. Please remember that this special day is for you and your Kindergartener, so you should come without younger siblings and dressed in nice party clothes.
Following the Mass, we will be walking to the school hall for a short reception. There will be some refreshments and a DVD presentation documenting our year so far. At around 10:45am all children will be dismissed with you so you can continue this special day however you choose.

Reminders for the Week

Please continue to practice with your child if they have been given a reading part for Friday's Mass. We want everyone to be able to read their lines confidently for this special day!
This Thursday, May 16th will be a Kindergarten t-shirt out-of-uniform day. Students may wear shorts, but please no flip-flops. Thank you!

X-cited for Another Week!
Tomorrow will be a pop-top out-of-uniform day. Your child does not have to wear their Kindergarten t-shirt, they may dress in whatever clothes you please.
Tomorrow is also Mother's Club Hot Lunch. Please make sure to send a snack for the afternoon.
This week we will be learning about the letters "X" and "Y". Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sound for both "X" and "Y". We will be learning about story words, compound words, and we will discuss fixing boxes. We will also be working with our new memory word: you.
We will continue to work on our measurement chapter in the upcoming week in math.
We are working hard on learning the St. Juliana School prayer. Please continue to work on this at home as well.
Next Friday, May 17th is our Kindergarten Parents' Day Mass beginning at 9:00am in the church. All children will be dismissed from the reception at around 10:45am. Please make other arrangements for them during our Kindergarten Mass.
Our Kindergarten Picnic will be on Thursday, June 6th from 9:00am-11:00am. This will be our last day of school. Siblings are invited to join us for the picnic. As we get closer to this day, we will make your aware of the details.

Healthy Snacks! :)
I was so excited to see so many of my Kindergarten friends eating healthy snacks today! Fonzie's bowl was full of delicious things for him to snack on, he was squeaking with delight! Keep it up!

Jogging Into A New Week!
There is no school tomorrow- Friday, May 3rd.
We will continue to work with the letter J in the upcoming week. Please continue to practice previously taught skills.
We will be beginning a new chapter in math. Please reinforce measurement lessons at home and in "real world" settings whenever possible.
Next Friday, May 10th is Mother's Club Hot Lunch. Please remember to send a snack for the afternoon.
Please be sure to turn in your field trip and Parent Mass forms if you have not done so already.

Jumping Into A New Week!
On Wednesday, we will be introducing the letter "J". Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sound for "J". We will be learning about rhyming words, sequencing, juggling, jacks, jack-o-laterns, and other fun things. We will also be working with our new memory words: said.
We will be continuing to work on reviewing our addition and subtraction skills next week.
Please remember to turn in your field trip and Kindergarten Mass forms if you have not done so already.
We will be having a Kindergarten t-shirt out-of-uniform day on Thursday, May 2nd.

Building Peace Carnival
Tomorrow is Building Peace Project's Carnival! Students should come dressed in their blue Building Peace shirt and jeans, khakis, or school pants- no sweatpants please. Students can wear gym shoes, or any other shoes they would like.

Kindergarten is Moving Along So Quickly!
Next week we will continue to learn about the letters "K" and "Q". Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sounds for both "K" and "Q". We will be learning about plays and theater words and multi-meaning words. We will also be working with our new memory word: like.
Please continue to practice all the prayers that we have learned this year. We are working to remember all of them before the end of the year in preparation for first grade!

What a Wonderful Week!
Report cards come home today. Please sign and send them back to school as soon as possible.
Today we began learning about the letter "W". Please make sure your child can recognize, print, and vocalize the sound for "W". We will be learning about identifying the title of the story, discussing playing make believe games, discussing onomatopoeias, and distinguishing between reality and fantasy. We will also be working with our new memory word: to.
We will be starting a new chapter in math next week. We will be working on composing and decomposing numbers 11-19. Please be aware of the work coming home and please reinforce it with your child.
Tuesday, April 16th is Teddy Bear Picnic. Your child may bring in a teddy bear or other stuffed animal. Please make sure the bear is no bigger than from their wrist to elbow. Students may also bring in a towel or small blanket to sit on during our picnic. This picnic will be in the classroom. We will also be using a pop-top out-of-uniform for Tuesday . Please do not forget to send a snack and drink for the afternoon.

If you were asked to bring in any supplies for Teddy Bear Picnic, please send them into your teacher as soon as possible.

Welcome Back!
We were so happy to see all of our Kindergarten friends smiling faces back today! We hope that everyone enjoyed their time off!
This week we will be introducing the letter V. We will be learning how to identify capital/lowercase V, discussing veterinarians, understanding abbreviations and synonyms. Please continue to work on the take home books and the Superkids flash cards. Remember there are also games and books on the Superkids website for additional practice.
We are continuing to work on learning the St. Juliana School prayer. Please practice this at home as well.
We are finishing up our subtraction chapter in math this week. Please continue to work on addition amd subtraction in home. It is helpful to use real life examples when possible.
This Wednesday, April 10th we will be attending mass with the school. Please have your child wear their Building Peace t-shirt over their uniform.
Yearbook orders are due this Friday, April 12th.
This Friday, April 12th we will have a Kindergarten t-shirt day. Students do not have to wear their uniforms under their class t-shirts. Please come dressed in your t-shirt and other weather appropriate clothes. It is also Dairy Queen Mother's Club Hot Lunch.
Tuesday, April 16th will be our Kindergarten Teddy Bear Picnic. The students are welcome to bring a teddy bear that is no bigger than their wrist to elbow. Please make sure that your child's name is on it. They may also bring a small blanket or beach towel for the day. This will also be a pop-top out-of-uniform day. If you were asked to send in an item for this day, please do so by Friday, April 12th.
Our Kindergarten Mass will be on Friday, May 17th at 9:00am. This is a special day for our Kindergarteners and their parents. Please make other arrangements for younger siblings. Students will go home with their parents following a short reception in the hall after Mass.
The Kindergarten picnic will be on Thursday, June 6th from 9:00am-11:00am at Brooks Park. This will be our last day of school. Younger siblings are welcome to join us for the festivities. Students will be dismissed from the park with their families.
