Buzzing into a New Week!

Looking forward to a new week, and to meeting Mr. B in our classroom. Mr. B is not bringing us any new words...BUT...he wants us to practice all of our old words this week!


Keep practicing counting, and writing the numbers 1-12.


Next Friday is the Grandparents' Mass at 1:00. If for some reason a grandparent is unable to make it that day, please try to send someone in their place so the child doesn't feel left out.


Don't forget to send in a new white or cream pillowcase for the Indian project. Thanks to those who have already done this!

Zipping through a new week!!!

Mr. Z will be visiting us next week. Our new word is: they. Please review all of the sounds and words we have learned so far.

In the next few weeks, please practice the following skills: tying shoes, zipping coats and making the sign of the cross.

We need each kindergarten child to bring in a new white pillowcase for a Thanksgiving project.

Grandparents Mass will be held on November 21st at 1:00 pm. We would also like to honor the deceased grandparents of the children. Please write their names on a sheet of paper for the child to bring to school as soon as possible.

Next Friday, November 14th, all of the students from St. Juliana will be wearing green for National Recycle Day. It is also a Mothers' Club Hot Lunch.

Parent Teacher conferences are coming up on November 24th and 25th. A note was sent with information about attendance times. If this time is not convenient for you, please let us know. We will do our best to rearrange the time.

We are going to have a Perfect week!!!

Ms. P will be joining our rooms next week. She is bringing along our new everyday words of; a and on.

We will be having a pajama day on Thursday, November 6th. Your child may come dressed in their pajamas, but please remember that we will be going outside for recess.

Report cards will be sent home on Monday. Please sign the report card and return it in the envelope provided as soon as possible.

There will be no school on Tuesday, November 4th due to a Teacher Institute Day.

On Wednesday, November 5th, the students may wear red, white and blue in honor of choosing our new President.

If you child is participating in the Pizza Hut Book It Program, please return the calendar as soon as possible.

We will be working on the numbers 6-12 next week. Please practice writing the numbers correctly at home.

Due to the weather getting colder, please make sure your child can get ready to go outside by themselves. It would be great if you could practice zippering, buttoning and snapping their coats.

Have an Amazing Halloween!!

Next week, we will continue to work on the letter "A". Please continue to reinforce the everyday words. We will be testing each child on their knowledge of these words for the report cards. They will be coming home on November 3rd.

In math, we are focusing on recognizing and writing the numbers 0-5. Please have them practice writing their numbers and correct them if they write them backwards.

In religion, we are talking about our families and how they are a gift from God. Please continue to practice the "Our Father" prayer at home.

Next week, we are going to have our kindergarten/8th grade Halloween Party. We are looking forward to seeing the children in their costumes.

We are going to have an Awesome week!!!

Due to a short week, we will be continuing to learn about Mr. H and his sound. In the middle of next week, we will be meeting Ms. A, our first LetterLight (vowel) friend. Please review the different sounds that the letter A makes. Our new everyday word is ME.

The first quarter ends October 24th. Report cards will go home on November 3rd.

Next week, we will be celebrating Red Ribbon Week, for drug awareness. We are having a parade on Friday, October 24th. We will be needing a red wagon for each classroom to make a float. If you have one at home that we could lend to us, please let us know as soon as possible. On Wednesday, October 22nd, we will be having a K-9 dog visit our school. He will show us the special job that he does for the police department.

On Friday, October 24th, will be having an out of uniform day. Your child should wear red.

Please work with your child on their home address.

Here's to a Happy Week!

Looking forward to a new week, and to meeting Mr. H. He has "Happy Hair". Please review the sound that H makes, and have your child try to name things that begin with H. The new Everyday words are: there and is. We will also be learning about the exclamation point. Please continue to practice all the Everyday words we have learned so far.


In Math, we are working on recognizing and writng the numbers 0-5.


In Religion, we will be talking about Noah and God's love for us.


The October report will be sent home on Friday, Oct.


10th. Please review with your child. You may keep this copy for your information.


There is no school on Monday, due to Columbus Day.


Don't forget - our field trip to the pumpkin farm is on Friday, October 17th.

Please add these words to your "practice pile".


In Math, we are continuing our work on patterns.


Next week, we will be beginning to talk about fire safety. We are still looking for a firefighter to come in and talk to the children about fire safety. If you (or someone you know) would like to do this, please contact us here at school.


With Columbus Day coming up, we will also be talking about Christopher Columbus and his travels and discoveries.


Next Friday, we will be sending home an October report. Please watch for this to come home in your child's folder. It lists a few Kindergarten skills that we are currently working on. Please make sure that you are practicing recognition of their letters and numbers to ten, and how to count to twenty.


We have a field trip coming up on October 17th to the pumpkin farm, which coincides with our farm unit. The information has already come home in your child's folder. Please return the form and fee as soon as possible.

Flying through the week!!!

Thank you to all the parents who came to track-a-thon and helped us. We had a great time! Please remember to turn in your money as soon as possible.



Starting Monday, we will meet Ms. F. In honor of her presence, we will have an out of uniform day on Thursday. Students may wear an outfit with their Favorite color.



The new words we will be working on are: do, see and the. Please continue to review all of the other everyday words that we have learned.



In math, we are working on patterns. See if your child can find any patterns of color, shape or size.



This past week, we have been practicing telephone numbers. Please continue to review at home.



In October we will be learning about fire safety. We would like if a firefighter could come and talk to the children about fire safety. If you are available (or know someone that is) please let us know.



In religion, we have been learning about all of God's gifts that he gave us.

Traveling into a Terrific Week!!

This week we will be visiting with Ms. T and her tall teeth. Talk to your child about ways to take care of their teth and keep them healthy. See if your child can identify words that begin with the T sound. Please practice writing both capital and lowercase T. The new everyday words for the week are and, you and are. Please review these words at home.



The children should now be writing their names the "Kindergarten" way, using a capital for the first letter, and lowercase for the rest. When your child is writing at home, please have them correct backwards letters and numbers.



In Religion, we are talking about all of God's gifts to us. We are also practicing the Our Father in school. Please review this prayer at home.



For Math, we have been sorting by color, size and shape, and learning how to graph.



Don't forget that picture day is Wednesday, September 24th.



The children are to come to school dressed out of uniform for pictures. Please return your picture form and fee to school as soon as possible.



Track-a-thon for the kindergarten classes is on Thursday, September 25th. They are to come to school in comfortable running clothes. Please send a water bottle with your child's name on it to school that day. Don't forget to return the green sponsor sheets before that day.



The school collects pop tops for Ronald McDonald house. Every time a bag in our room is filled, we earn an out of uniform day.



Thank you for continuing to send in supplies for the classroom. We really appreciate your generosity!
