Reading- Please reread the story Slumber Party for homework.



Math-We started measurement today. We measured different items with a paper clip.



Social Studies-We are working on American symbols. The children learned about the American Flag and we made Bald Eagles today. Ask you child what they know about eagles and our flag?



Reminders: Please sign the reading unit and math chapter test and return them tomorrow. Don't forget to do your math subtraction flashcards tonight.



Book orders went home today. This will be the last time you can order books before the school year ends. I have combined May and June book lists. They are due on May 3rd.

Homework: Begin to read the stories for Unit 7 on the Superkids website and math flashcards.



The new spelling list is in the folder. The test is on May 9th. The children will be tested on all 10 words listed on the sheet.



Reminder: We will be going our field trip tomorrow. Everyone needs to be in uniform. We will eat lunch in our classrooms when we return. Remember no hotlunch for first grade due to the field trip so everyone needs to bring a lunch to school!

Homework: math page and flashcards.



For Friday's field trip please have your child wear their uniform. Children will eat lunch in the classroom when we get back. Thank you!

Religion-We are reading the Bible story-Joseph's Amazing Coat and working on some activities to help us understand the play. The field trip is Friday.

Language Arts-We finished Unit 6 today. We will have an assessment test this week.

Math-We are continuing to work on strategies to help us subtract larger numbers. Complete math page for homework.

Science-We will finish up our plant unit
this week.

Social Studies-This week we are beginning to learn about symbols of the USA.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to chaperone the field trip. I pulled a name out of a hat and the parent received a letter. Thanks again for volunteering!


We did a science experiment with lima beans today. Ask your child about it?


If your child has not completed the giraffe lists please continue to work with your child. All remaining giraffe lists (Dolch Words) should be completed as soon as possible.

Earth Day is April 22nd. We are reading books, talking about ways we can help the Earth to be a better place and doing some fun activites related to Earth Day this week.



In science we started our unit on plants. The children planted flower seeds today and started working on their plant book.



Homework: Math subtraction flashcards and spelling words. The spelling test is next Tuesday, April 24th.
