Racing into March with Mr. R

On Friday we will be having Rainbow Day. There will be more information coming home on Monday. Please remember to practice our everyday words. We will also be working on learning to read the names of colors.

This Sunday is Dr. Seuss’ Birthday. Since he loves rhyming words, why don’t you brainstorm some with your child.

We have been working on coins and their values in Math. We only focus on the penny, nickle, and the dime. See if your child can recognize and tell you what each coin is worth. Keep practicing your counting to 100.

Please remember we are collecting small items for the Easter baskets we are putting together for those children in need. Rooms 1, 5, and 9 are collecting items for boys and room 2 is collecting items for girls.

We hope to see everyone at the volunteer dinner on Thursday, March 6th at 6:00.

Since we are beginning to talk about coins and their values, please start to talk about the penny, nickel, and dime at home with your child.

Thank you very much for your donations for the 100 Day celebration, and for the Valentine's Day party. The children had a great time!

Don't forget - there is no school on Monday because of Presidents' Day.

Have an "Oh, so wonderful" week!

What a Wonderful Week!

We will be working on the letter W. Ms.W wants us to be working on our everyday words. She didn't bring any new words to learn this week.

Just a reminder Thursday, February 14th is Valentine's Day. It is an out-of-uniform day, but your child needs to be in Valentine day colors (red, pink, white or purple). Don't forget to send Valentine cards to school, and your sundae ingredient if you were assigned to bring one.

Ms.W would like us to work on rhyming words, sounding out words and writing our numbers 1-30.

In school we have been discussing Lent and our promises we have made to Jesus. One of our promises is to pray for those in need. A school wide project that is optional is to fill their rice bowls with money for those in need.

We are need of paper towels. If you can send in a roll, we would appreciate it.

Have a wonderful weekend!
