We had a special celebration today! Kaylen turned five. Happy Birthday Kaylen!

The children cleaned up around our school and the Church. They made it all look beautiful!





Our Earth Day Celebration...

The children looked great in green and blue! They enjoyed an extra treat during snack time. Every child was given a cupcake with blue and green frosting to make their own delicious "worlds!"









Our letter this week is G. We will continue to talk about caring for our Earth and learn about growing plants.

We enjoyed our Gym class down in the School Hall today while our school play is being performed in the Gym. Mr. LaCerra had bowling lanes set up! The children enjoyed bowling, and also, being in charge of the pin set-up!



Mrs. Hackett, and Mrs. Schrantz, came today to paint a table and two chairs with the children. Both Four Year Old Preschool rooms decorated the table and chairs. The children painted with their hand prints and finger prints and splattered the chairs with paint. All of their names are included on the table. The table and chairs will be auctioned off at the Black Top Ball!

The results of the Early Childhood Screening were sent home yesterday in your child's folder.

If there are any issues indicated in the results I will be available anytime to meet with you and discuss the results in further detail. Please just email me or drop me a note, and let me know if you would like to meet with me to discuss the screening results and we can set up a time.

Today, Ms. K came to our room with her KABOOM Kick! So far, we have shared her story and song, brainstormed a great list of "K" words, and went on a K hunt.



The week kicked off with Earth Day on Sunday, April 22nd. The children are learning about recycling their garbage and taking care of the Earth. The children began a project that creates a spectacular "Earth" project along with a beautiful butterfly! This week, we will take a Spring walk and pick up trash along the way to help take care of our environment. (Gloves will be provided.)Please help your child pick out a blue and green outfit to wear Friday, April 27th, in honor of Mother Earth.

FYI: Tomorrow, April 24th, is a Preschool and Kindergarten Open House.

Have you heard? We have five Painted Lady caterpillars in our room! We're looking forward to watching our new pets change before our eyes. The children have already observed that our caterpillars have grown in size, in only one night. The preschoolers become very excited when
they see the caterpillars crawling around!
We visited the "Smart Board" this week. The children each took a turn writing "u" with the smart pen!

The Early Childhood Screening is complete. We should receive the results in a couple of weeks.
Our Black Top Ball basket is incredible thanks to all of you. Your generosity is VERY much appreciated. After the Black Top Ball, I'll post how much money the families of room 3 raised for our school. Thank you!

This week we are learning about the letter U. Ms. U and her unusual umbrella have already helped us learn about our universe. Her story was a great starting point to begin our learning theme of Our Earth. We will also be discussing spring weather, as well as Our Earth, throughout the rest of April. The children are enjoying using water colors to paint umbrellas -"April Showers Bring May Flowers!" Check out our windows to see the other beautiful umbrellas the children have made.

Tots & Company
Who can be the "company"? Anyone caring for children not yet of school age. Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies... all are invited to join us for some light morning refreshments and friendly socializing.
We'll be gathering in the Extended Care room (Room 12) in the school. Plenty of toys to keep the little ones busy!
If you know of families new to the neighborhood, this is a perfect gathering for breaking the ice, so please share this notice with them. ALL are welcome to drop in, even if just for a few minutes.

The preschoolers enjoyed their Easter egg hunt in the School Hall, and the special snack in our room.)
The children had fun in the Gym on Wednesday. They hopped and raced around the Gym like rabbits. We also "helped" the bunnies bounce in and out of the parachute!

Your child has an evaluation form in his/her folder from an alphabet pretest. I was very impressed by how well the children knew their letters! Way to go preschoolers! As always, please contact me with any questions and/or concerns.
