Ash Wednesday

The children received ashes today from Fr. Steve and Mrs. Barton. Fr. Steve taught the children that the ashes are to remind us that Jesus loves us. We talked about how we will all try to be more like Jesus during this Lenton season.

An Excellent Tuesday!

Our Letter Person, Ms. E, is visiting this week. Ask your child about Ms. E's book. Today we went on an E hunt and colored Ms. E's puppet. We also discussed a variety of fun ways to exercise by playing sports or similar games. Ms. E has lots of "exercise energy!" Please have your child dress in his/her exercise clothes on Friday, February 24th.

Tomorrow is Ash Wednesday. Father Steve, will be visiting our room to give out ashes to the children.

Tots & Company

Formerly known as the Moms and Tots group, we now have a new name: Tots & Company.

Who can be the "company"? Anyone caring for children not yet of school age. Moms, dads, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nannies... all are invited to join us for some light morning refreshments and friendly socializing.

We normally meet in the Parish Center but this month, in honor of our new name, we'll be gathering in the Extended Care room in the school. Plenty of toys to keep the little ones busy! (Interested parents can also visit our preschool classrooms if they want to take a peek.)

If you know of families new to the neighborhood, this is a perfect gathering for breaking the ice, so please share this notice with them. ALL are welcome to drop in, even if just for a few minutes.

A Great Week

The Letter Person, Ms. T, was here last week! She talked about her "tall teeth" and how to keep them healthy. We focused on what we can do to remain healthy: eating good foods, hand washing, exercise, sleep, and of course those necessary visits to the doctor for preventive immunizations.

Dr. Gerald Gutsell, generously donated his time to talk to the students about dental health. He showed the children slides of healthy teeth, teeth that needed better brushing, and a x-ray of how their adult teeth are in their gums above their baby teeth. Dr. Gutsell also brought toothbrushes, coloring sheets and parent information that each child took home. Thank you Dr. Gutsell for visiting our room!! Dr. Gutsell's office information is available at www.GGGDDS.com

February is Dental Health Month. We will be discussing dental health practices: brushing, limiting sugar drinks and snacks. We have a special guest visiting us next week to talk about dental health. Their dental calendars were sent home today. Please have your child place a sticker on his/her calendar every time he/she brushes their teeth
