Terrific Tuesday

Thank you for coming to our Open House! We had great participation in our room. It was wonderful to see the children sharing their work with their families. I hope you had a chance to visit the Kindergarten rooms as well. If not, we have a Preschool/Kindergarten Open House scheduled for February 23rd.
Today we went to the Computer Lab and enjoyed exploring the site starfall.com. There are many more games that can easily be played at home.
Mr. H is visiting Preschool! Mr. H has "happy hair," and loves to learn about good health. We will be discussing healthy habits throughout the month. I'd love to see lots of fresh fruit and veggies at snack to emphasize the importance of eating right. Thanks. We're also going to get our heart rates up by keeping our bodies moving. Mr. H really enjoyed seeing us dance to several songs today. Ask your child what his/her favorite "H" song is. (Hokey Pokey, Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes, and If You're Happy & You Know It...)

We're getting ready for Groundhog Day! Tomorrow, we will vote on whether or not the groundhog will see his shadow on Thursday. Ask your child what he/she thinks.

Clowning Around in Preschool!

The children have been busy getting the classroom ready for our Open House on January 30th. We have been learning about the circus for the letter C. The children made seals using watercolors, clowns, acrobats and bingo dobbered clown hats. Tomorrow, we will make Curious George. He'll be hanging around our room as only a monkey can do!

Our Popcorn taste-test! Cheesy popcorn was the favorite.

Pictures to share!

Today, the children had so much fun "Clowning Around" in the gym for circus week. We played pin the nose on the clown, acted like lions and lion tamers, had a bean bag clown toss, and walked a "tightrope."

Head Lice were reported within the preschool program. Please keep in mind that head lice may occur to anyone at anytime. It is not a sign of uncleanliness. For more information go to http://www.cdc.gov/parasites/lice/head/treatment.html.

We ask that every child be carefully checked at home. Nits frequently are seen on hair behind the ears and near the back of the neck. Please let me know if you find nits or lice.

A Beautiful Week!

The children enjoyed their hot chocolate taste-test on Thursday! They had the option of trying the hot chocolate plain, with marshmallows, or with whipped cream. Ask your child which way he/she preferred or might try at another time (for those who didn't have any in class.)

Beforehand, the children decorated their own "mugs" of hot chocolate to hang in our hallway. We also worked on a classbook about our favorite snack to have with this yummy drink! You can check out your child's mug during our Open House on Sunday, January 29th, from 1-3.

A Great "B" Week!

We had a good time in Gym this morning. We buzzed around the Gym like bumble bees before we split into groups for centers. In small groups, we bounced balls in the parachute, kicked balls around, bounced the basketballs, and played catch. Mr. B loves playing with bouncy balls!
