Saint Juliana School

The school office will be open on Wednesdays from 9:00 A.M. to noon on June 17 and 24; and August 5 and 12. Forms, tuition payments, etc. may be turned in to the Parish Business Office during their regular office hours. Phone messages will be checked regularly.

There has been a recent increase in the number of residential burglaries in our community. Commander Anthony Riccio of the 016th District directed a Community Policing effort to help residents improve security measures on their homes and garages, reducing attractiveness to potential burglars. Residents are encouraged to share the attached press release with neighbors and friends.

The deadline for ordering School Tool Box supply kits has been extended to Friday, June 12. You may bring your orders to the school office between 8:00 A.M. and 2:00 P.M.

The June 2009 tuition statement, which bills the first tuition statement of the 2009/2010 school year, will be mailed home later this week. The payment due date will be Tuesday, June 30. Payments that are received at the parish or school office by that date will not be assessed a late charge. Please note that the June 2009 payment is non-refundable.

Any balance remaining for the 2008/2009 school year as of Thursday, June 11, will be carried forward to the June statement that is being mailed home.

TRIP certificates will be available for purchase at the parish office between the hours of 9:00-10:30 AM on Monday through Friday. Pre-paid and AutoTRIP orders may be picked up anytime during normal business hours, as usual.

Please remember to bring your used crayons to school by Friday, June 5. The 5th grade Girl Scouts will send them to an organization that creates "Super Crayons" designed for children with special needs. There are buckets in the school entry hall for the crayons. The scouts thank you for supporting their efforts.

Once again, the St. Juliana Mothers’ Club will be offering school supply kits for the 2009/2010 school year. Free yourself from the stress running from store to store to find the necessary school supplies - just order now and pick-up your kit before school starts!

We will be using the same company as in the past, Stico-School Tool Box, which has once again offered us very low prices for our kits. These supplies are bought in bulk, so remember, that savings gets passed on to you.

The School Supply Kit pick-up will be on August 20, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Rev. Donald Ahearn Parish Activity Center. If you are unable to make it that day, please make arrangements to have your kits picked up. If you have any questions, please contact Peggy Geraghty through the school office (773.631.2256).

On Friday, May 29th, the Ribbon Ceremony for the eighth grade students was held in St. Juliana Church. A very special part of this ceremony is the ritual of passing the torch of school leadership from the graduating class to the new 8th graders.

The annual uniform drop-off and exchange is Wednesday, June 10, between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. in the parish office "Lounge". Please note the purple flyer in today's "backpack mail".

The Athletic Association meeting is tomorrow, Wednesday, at 7:30 P.M. in the school library. You may enter through the gym doors.
