We frequently receive requests from various groups to use the Ahearn Activity Center, Parish Center or school hall for gatherings. Some organizations are parish-sponsored, such as Scouts, Mothers’ Club and SJS sports teams (Trojans.) Other gatherings may involve parishioners or school families but are not strictly organized as parish groups, and might include receptions, fundraising events, or athletic practices/games for park district, public or other league teams. The requirements for using our facilities vary, depending on whether it is defined as a sponsored or non-sponsored event.
To view the reservations that have already been booked you can consult the Facilities calendar. Please note that this calendar displays the time frame for which the space has been reserved and not necessarily the meeting/event times. Please check the Events calendar for meeting information.

Like every other homeowner, we must repair and maintain our buildings and grounds. We share with you here a photo gallery of several areas of concern and estimated costs to complete the repairs. The funds to pay for these capital projects will come largely from our Parish Projects offering envelopes, which are provided during the months of May through October. The continuing generosity of our parishioners -- particularly in our uncertain economic climate -- is greatly appreciated.

October marks the final month of our annual Parish Projects mini-campaign, which runs from May through October of every year. This summer's focus is Church Doors: Phase Two (the Touhy Avenue main entrance doors.) As of September 15, we've deposited $ toward the fund. With your continued generosity, we can finish the project and bring the beautiful new doors to all the other entrances of our church during the summer of 2012. The total cost for the three double door sets at the main entrance, the double doors to the alley on the north side, and the two single access doors also on the alley side is $75,000. Although there will no longer be dedicated Parish Projects envelopes in your packets, you may continue to make an instant donation to this very important fundraising project at GiveCentral.org, our online payment partner.

The Archdiocese of Chicago sponsored an annotated pictorial history of the parishes of Chicago. The book contains two main sections: approximately one-third is dedicated to the rich history of the Archdiocese of Chicago from the early years as a mission church to its current status as one of the largest Catholic dioceses in the world. The second section introduces each parish in the city of Chicago and surburbs encompassed by the archdiocese, His Eminence, Francis Cardinal George, O.M.I., Archbishop of Chicago provides a preface to the book.
An iTunes/iPad app is also available, featuring over 1,000 full-color photographs showcasing the history and beauty of the parishes of the Archdiocese of Chicago. Search for Archdiocese of Chicago Churches in iTunes; proceeds benefit the Cardinal's Scholarship Fund.
