St. Juliana Parish is blessed with many talented choir members and musicians who share their time and gifts with us each week at our Sunday liturgies. There are currently seven musical groups who enhance and encourage our worship. If you would be interested in joining one, or more, of these groups just contact Margie Shiel or come to our next rehearsal! Listed below is a brief description of each group and a rehearsal schedule. Every group is very friendly, and loves to sing and play and share their love of God through song. All rehearsals take place in the St. Juliana Parish Church. Thank you for your interest!
St. Juliana Adult Choir
Composed of women and men who love to sing both traditional anthems and hymns as well as more contemporary songs. There are over 20 members in this choir and we are always happy to see and hear a new member. We sing on the second and fourth Sundays of each month at 9:00 A.M. mass. We rehearse most every Wednesday evening, September through May, from 7:30 to 9:00 PM.
St. Juliana Guitar Group
Men and women high school age and up who play guitar or other instruments and or sing. We do primarily contemporary music, often in parts, with some traditional hymns also. There are presently eight members of this choir and we would love to have you join us. We sing at the 10:30 A.M. mass on Sundays. We rehearse most every Tuesday, September through May from 7:00 to 8:30 PM.
St. Juliana Children's Choir
Any 3rd through 8th grade student in St. Juliana Parish. We currently have about 30 students from St. Juliana school in grades 3 to 8, and 2 CCD students also! We sing a wide range of styles from traditional to contemporary and are always happy to see a new member. We sing on the first and third Sundays of each month at the 9:00 A.M. mass. We rehearse most every Wednesday after school during the school year from 2:50 to 4:00 PM.
St. Juliana Family Choir
A multigenerational choir composed of children, parents, extended family and friends from St. Juliana Parish. This choir sings on the second Sunday of the month at the 10:30 AM mass from October through June. They rehearse on the preceeding Tuesday from 6:30 to 7:30 PM.
St Juliana Young Adult Choir
A newly formed choir consisting of those of high school age through their 20s who wish to share their love of music and liturgy with their peers and their parish! This choir sings once per month, often at the 5:00 PM mass on a day convenient to most members. We rehearse on the Thursday previous to the chosen mass date from 7:00 – 8:00 PM and from 4:00 – 5:00 PM right before the mass. This enthusiastic new choir is on the look out for new members!
Cantors
We now have seven cantors serving us on the weekends. All are talented singers who have previously, or are, taking voice lessons as well as cantor school lessons. These cantors have made a commitment to St. Juliana to serve as a cantor on a rotating schedule at one mass every other week. They are a very dedicated group who would love to welcome new members also. The cantors meet approximately three times a year at a convenient time for all.
