Accessibility Projects

The Accessibility Projects Fund is a multi-year, multi-phase capital campaign aimed at improving access to the church and its environs. During the first weeks of January 2013, the entrance doors at the main entry and alley were replaced. Our church building celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2013—what a great way to open the "portal" to the new year!

The next phase of the Accessibility Projects campaign is an upgraded sign, which will include an electronic marquee, scheduled for Spring/Summer 2013.

Earlier phases of the project included:

  • a new gathering circle at southwest corner of building, and integrated circle of brick paver blocks at main Oketo entrance (completed September 2012)
  • removal of the deteriorating planter boxes in front of the main entrance to the church; (completed August 2012)
  • integrated sidewalk ramps at main Oketo and west Touhy entrances to the church (completed August 2012)
  • new and improved signage on our various buildings, to help visitors locate services and meetings (completed Spring 2012)
  • handrails on the altar; (completed February 2012)
  • reinstatement of uplighting of the cross atop our church bell tower (Spring 2012)
  • replacement of church doors on the south entrances (completed 2013)
  • centrally-controlled secure electronic access system on parish center (2012) and school (2013) entrance doors

All donations received through the Accessibility Projects and Parish Projects collections are being put toward these improvements, Please help us improve our facilities for our parish priests, leaders and members and visitors!
