Letters From A Pastor to His People - October 28 2018
If you have found yourself waiting recently at the DMV or the doctor's office, or waiting on hold for the cable, you can probably imagine well this scene from today's Gospel.Bartimaeus, a blind man, has been sitting, begging for a long time.He waits for something to change.Nothing does.
Until that monumental day when Jesus of Nazareth walks by.
Listen to what happens when Bartimaeus' name is at last called, and not just called by anyone, but by the Savior of the world: "He threw aside his cloak, sprang up, and came to Jesus (Mk 10:50)."
On the fourth Sunday of every month during the9:30am Masswe offer Sunday School for children age 3-6.We spread the Gospel message to our youngest worshipers in a comprehensive way through age-appropriate stories, discussion, and hands-on activities. There is no cost for our Sunday School program, and all children of preschool to kindergarten age (3-6) are welcome, parishioners and non-parishioners alike.
Every Fridaymorningwhen Saint Juliana School is in session we host a casual gathering for tots (age 0-3) and their caregivers in the Ahearn Activity Center from8:15 to 10am.Tots & Company is free and open to everyone, parishioner or non-parishioner. All you need to do is show up! It's a great time to connect with other moms, dads, grandparents and caregivers to enjoy coffee, donuts and adult conversation while the little ones can have a playgroup of their own as they run (or crawl) around our spacious gym. We also have juice boxes and snacks for the kids.
