Created to recognize individuals who have demonstrated significant leadership, moral integrity, spiritual commitment to Catholic values, and extraordinary leadership through charitable giving, the first recipient of this new award will be its namesake, John F. McDonough, president and CEO of the Chicago Blackhawks. Be sure to join us at the Emerald City Gala on September 15 for the inaugural presentation of this award to John.
We have all known him as Deacon Robinson, but after he receives his Holy Orders on Saturday, May 19 we'll be honored to have Father Robinson say his first Mass in our church at 5pm. All are welcome to attend, and we'll celebrate with him afterwards with a reception in the Ahearn Center.
This weekend's Masses celebrate a feast day that's often called the birthday of the Church. It comes 50 days after Easter and reminds us that the gifts we've received from the Holy Spirit enable us to share with others Jesus' forgiveness and peace.
There is something extra for all ages this Sunday, we hope to see you!
This weekend we begin our participation in the annual baby bottle fundraiser to benefit women in difficult and unplanned pregnancy situations. Please pick up an empty bottle from church, fill it with your spare coins and currency and return on June 9/10. Aid for Women centers provide pregnancy tests, exams, counseling, and residential programs to expectant mothers, and need our support. Thank you!
Empty paper sacks for the Missionary Spirit Team's lunch drive may be picked up from church this weekend. Return the filled sack(s) to the parking lot on Tuesday, May 22 from 6-9am.
Augustine & Aquinas
Father James will speak about these two saints at his next Theology Talk on Tuesday, May 22 at 7pm in the chapel. All are welcome!
