This Saturday our second grade school and religious ed students will receive the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist for the very first time. We congratulate them, and welcome them for Mass on Sunday to celebrate this blessed sacrament with our entire community!
Another sacramental highlight of spring is our seventh grade students receiving the grace of the Holy Spirit in Confirmation. This Sunday at 11am the Confirmandi and their sponsors will join us for a special Mass, and on Thursday, May 3 they will receive their final sacrament of initiation from Bishop Joseph Perry.
Apparitions of Mary
Our Lady is quite the traveler—she's appeared to believers and non-believers alike all over the world. Join Fr. James in the chapel at 7pm on May 1 as opens the Marian month of May with a talk about Lourdes. Fatima, Knock and more.
You've no doubt noticed the new handicap crosswalks at Oketo and Touhy—so nice! Osceola and Touhy are being completed as you read this. Next up: Complete resurfacing of both Oketo and Osceola Avenues, from Touhy to Chase. Might be good to take advantage of the spring weather we're finally seeing and walk to church and school; parking will be a challenge for the next few weeks. Thanks for your patience as work proceeds.
Vacation Bible School
Our program this summer is based on Totus Tuus (Latin for totally yours) and it's fabulous! There's a daytime session for kids in grades 3-6, and an evening program for teens in grades 7-12; both run during the week of July 8-13. Online registration is still open but spots are filling quickly.
We're thrilled to be hosting Camp Invention at St. Juliana for the first time, from June 18–22. The camp sold out in days and we've a passel of excited kids coming our way for this STEM-focused week of fun and games. We're in need of some youthful counselors to work closely with teachers on projects and activities. Teens entering high school or in college are encouraged to apply for this great summer experience. Email volunteer coordinator Deena Talano for more information.
