Saint Juliana Parish is here to help people experience Jesus. We believe when you experience Jesus, you become the best version of yourself. You experience happiness. Wherever you are on your journey, you are welcome to our Catholic parish.
SJS Open House
Catholic Schools Week 2018 kicks off with our annual signature event to showcase excellence in Catholic education at our award-winning school. On Sunday, January 28, we'll start in church with a special 11am Family Mass, then head over to school for the festivities. The bake sale in the Ahearn Activity Center will be open following the 7:30 and 9:30 Masses; all are welcome to stop in to pick up a treat!
Admission for 2018-2019 also opens to new students on this date. Please forward to any friends or neighbors so they don't miss it; early childhood spots fill very quickly.
New! An online forum to continue the discussion beyond our 3Cs adult formation group sessions. It's free and anyone can read; registration is required to post.
Save the Date: The next 3Cs in Christ gathering will be Sunday, February 4 at 3:30pm in church. Father James will lead the discussion on the book Jesus Shock! and the question, "Who is Jesus to you?" Haven't read it? No worries, come anyway!
We've also started a forum for follow-up discussions for Father James' theology sessions that will be starting up again on February 13. Next up: Church History: The Crusades and The Inquisition.
Annual Catholic Appeal
This weekend we begin our appeal on behalf of the countless ministries that benefit from ACA funding across the Archdiocese. Our parish goal for the 2018 campaign is $53,000. In past years our generous parishioners have pledged and paid well beyond our goal and we've received funds to put toward our own parish ministries and programs. The ACA uses the convenience of GiveCentral; your support is greatly appreciated.
On Saturday, January 27 our Missionary Spirit Team will visit Presence St. Benedict Nursing and Rehab Center in Niles to sing winter and Valentine's songs to the residents. Music director Margie Shiel will accompany us and we're bringing some treats to share with the community. All are invited to join us; we're entertaining from 2-3pm.
Boy Scout Troop 965 is shooting to collect 2500 pairs of brand new socks for men, women and children of all ages. Will they reach their goal? With your help, yes! Collection bins will be in church January 27/28 and February 3/4. Most needed are basic, durable socks for warmth. Thank you!
Fr. Laurent Ministerial Evaluation Survey
Fr. Laurent's term as associate pastor for our parish will end this summer and in preparation for his next assignment, he will participate in the Catholic Leadership 360 Review process through the Archdiocese. As part of this program, our parishioners have an opportunity to recognize Fr. Laurent's gifts and share their sentiments about his ministry while here.
Members of our St. Vincent DePaul Society will accept your non-perishable and monetary donations for this annual event on the weekend of, you guessed, Super Bowl Sunday, February 3/4. Wondering what items to put on your shopping list? Check this link for suggestions.
