Happy Advent to your family from Saint Juliana Parish! Please join us at Mass this weekend to receive your Christmas gift from the parish, "Jesus Shock!" by Peter Kreeft. The book may be picked up from the back of church.
On the first Friday of every month we open the church for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. Tomorrow, Friday, December 1, the church will be open and available for Adoration from 9am to 9pm.
As we approach the first Sunday of Advent this weekend is there any way more fitting to begin the season of hope, than to spend some quiet time in reflection and meditation on the reason for the season? The reason for every season?
What better way to show our kids that Jesus really IS the reason for the season than by attending Mass together as a family?
Our family liturgy (with the children's choir) is at 9:30am this Sunday, December 3, but any time will do. Masses are also on Saturday at 5pm, Sunday at 7:30 and 11:00am, and don't forget about Sunday evening at 5:00pm. (There's always something a little extra-special about lighting Advent candles at night.)
The annual presentation of sacred music and Christmas carols by our adult and children's choirs will take place on Sunday, December 10 at 3:30pm in church. All are invited to join us for this beautiful and inspirational respite from the hustle and bustle of shopping and decorating.
Don't forget to make time to stop by the Activity Center (gym) before the concert to see the Crèche Walk display.
Presented annually by the St. Juliana School Board, this important award recognizes an individual who has volunteered his/her time, talent and/or resources to better our school.
The nomination period is now open! Registered parishioners may submit nominations at the link below or in writing to the school, parish office or school board member before January 8, 2018. The award will be presented during Catholic Schools Week, celebrated the last week of January.
(Alumni wondering where we found the old photos? Check out the nomination page!)
It's official! We've already had our first new student apply for admission for 2018-2019.
If one of our upcoming admissions events doesn't work for you we encourage you to get in touch with us to schedule a time that better suits your schedule. Call 773.631.2256 or email email@example.com.
When her preschoolers visit the play area behind the parish center, Mrs. Laura Lyons likes to make a stop to guide the children through a Hail Mary. We caught this (and some traffic and jet noise, sorry) spontaneous and beautiful moment yesterday on video. Watch and enjoy!
Representatives from the Women's Center will be in the back of church this weekend offering holiday wreaths and greenery for sale. Proceeds benefit their important work counseling girls and women facing unplanned pregnancies. There are three different Women's Centers in Chicagoland and your support is greatly appreciated.
Have you or a loved one been hospitalized or homebound and brought Communion? Then you've experienced a visit from a Minister of Care.
Would you like to return the blessing? You can become a Minister of Care by attending a training course that will provide you with the skills and confidence to be a source of comfort and support. There is no cost and the next class starts in January.
