Welcome Our New Principal

Welcome, Cathie Scotkovsky, Saint Juliana School's New Principal!

Dear Families and Friends of Saint Juliana,

It is my pleasure to announce Ms. Catherine Scotkovsky as our new principal for the upcoming 2020-2021 academic year and beyond. Ms. Scotkovsky has been a principal in the Archdiocese of Chicago for 8 years, and not only brings experience but also a tremendous passion and commitment to Catholic education. An SJS alumna herself, we are blessed to have her once again part of the Saint Juliana Family.

Ms. Scotkovsky is deeply dedicated to what she does. A coach at heart, I have no question our students, parents, teachers and parishioners will benefit from her leadership. She will build on the fine accomplishments of Mrs. Marshall, our current principal, and keep Saint Juliana School an excellent academic and religious institution.

I want to thank Mr. Michael Kelly, the president of the school board and leader of the principal search committee, along with all the members of the search committee. They gathered and analyzed data on the needs of our school, discerned the qualities needed in a new principal, conducted the interviews of the several candidates, and provided helpful feedback and advice for me in the decision.

I also want to thank Mrs. Marshall for her leadership over these past three years, and especially for her leadership at the present moment in these trying times. Mrs. Marshall accomplished much in her time here and she leaves Saint Juliana School in a great position for Ms. Scotvoksky to continue the advancement of our mission. We wish Mrs. Marshall and her family all the best.

I know, parents, there is a lot of uncertainty in our world these days. I know the stress you are under and perhaps even the fear you may have. I pray for you daily and I ask God to give you the grace you need to thrive. I have prayed fervently throughout the principal search process, and I am confident Ms. Scotkovsky is the right leader for our school, especially at this time. She will love your children and work tirelessly for them. And when your children leave the doors of SJS after graduation, they will be on their way to success and sainthood.

Thank you for your dedication to our school and thank you, in advance, for your warm welcome and support of Ms. Scotkovsky. I remain,

Yours in Christ,

Fr. James Wallace

Pastor, Saint Juliana Parish
