Letters from a Pastor to His People- March 29, 2020

    Dear Parishioners,

The raising of Lazarus is one of my favorite Gospels.  There is so much to pray with in the account.  On my private retreat I make every year, whenever it is, I spend at least one afternoon meditating and reflecting upon this powerful scene.  In last year's parish mission, I offered an extended meditation on the passage.  There is so much to glean from Jesus' encounter at Bethany that I encourage you to pray with this yourself.  You have time!

An Act of Spiritual Communion

My Jesus,

I believe that You are present in the Most Holy Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive You sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
